SPEAKER_01We're your hosts bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_02Today is November 2nd, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_02Beloved veteran actor Chui Buran, often called the nation's father, has been laid to rest after a remarkable 67 years in acting. His funeral procession took place privately on the morning of November 2nd at a Seoul Hospital, followed by a memorial mass at Yoidor Cathedral led by Cardinal Andrew Yom Sujong. The procession also stopped at the headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, where Choi had supported child welfare for 45 years, honouring his wish to visit there after his passing. Industry reports say he died on October 29th after his health declined following back surgery last year, and fellow stars including Kim He Za, Li Dio Kwa, Kim He su, and Yi Jewun came to pay their respects. The government posthumously awarded him the Gold Crown Order of Cultural Merit, and he will rest at a memorial park in Paju.
SPEAKER_01Big news for romcom fans. Sunzoku and Pakpoyong are teaming up for the first time in a time loop romantic comedy called Be With You, and cameras started rolling on October 31st. Industry reports say the fantasy romance follows a mysterious couple who cannot see tomorrow without a kiss, and the story kicks off after they face a breakup during a cruise trip. Sun Zhoku plays Tiang, a devoted husband left alone in a strange land who fights to get back to his wife, while Pak Boyong plays his wife Wu Zong, who does everything she can to reunite with him. Director Kang Yong T, known for Speed Scandal, Sunny, and Swing Kids, is directing his very first romance, and it marks Pak Boyong's reunion with him after 18 years. The production will film across Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, capturing a grand cruise ship and exotic scenery. And the director says he is cherishing every project more as time goes on and will do his best to bring audiences joy.
SPEAKER_02Stray Kid's member IN is stepping into a brand new chapter as he takes on his very first solo drama soundtrack since debuting. He is the fourth artist to join the original soundtrack lineup for the TVN Monday-Tuesday drama My Guilty Person, and his song, titled Guilty Pleasure, drops today, November 2nd, at 6 in the evening career time. The track is a pop rock number with a breezy rhythm and a fresh, bright band sound, all led by IN's clear, pure vocals. Lyrically, it captures that flutter of excitement mixed with hesitation, expressing the secret feelings and heartfelt sincerity that are hard to share with anyone. As for the drama itself, it follows a romance between an arrogant Chebol Air named as a murder suspect and a former Special Forces detective who goes undercover as his personal secretary, airing every Monday and Tuesday at 8.50 in the evening.
SPEAKER_01Hadungen became known through Mr. Trot Season 2. Tang Heri is a former Girls Day member who performs while playing bass, and young Ijoon recently won an encouragement prize as the youngest finalist at a national songwriting festival. The company plans to connect everything from TV and concert bookings to new songs, music distribution, and online promotion, along with launching an official website and Instagram with behind the scenes content. Rather than chasing quick wins, T Town says it wants to help lesser-known singers grow and design long-term career paths based on trust and responsibility.
SPEAKER_02According to Hanseo Chart, the album sold about 444,000 copies in its first week, topping the group's previous best of roughly 411,000 set by their fourth mini album. The title track, I'll Arrest You, is doing great too, landing at number 3 on Mellon's Top 100 and also number 3 on Bugs' real-time chart. Globally, it reached number 16 on Apple Music's Top 100 Global and number 74 on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global. The music video is climbing the charts as well, ranking in the top 30 on YouTube's weekly lists in the US and worldwide, while TikTok videos using the song pass 260,000 in just six days, as the group keeps up their comeback with music shows, university festivals, and variety appearances.
SPEAKER_01Every show sold out venues with more than 10,000 seats, bringing in roughly 60,000 fans in total. The 27 in the title celebrates her 27th birthday, and she filled the sets with solo tracks like Freak and Radio, her newer songs Stay and I Like You, plus covers that let her switch from fierce hip-hop to glamorous pop star. Closing the tour in tears, she recalled leaving Beijing in 2016 with just a small bag and a big dream, and thanked her fans for standing by her through every step.
SPEAKER_02Industry reports say it took the number one spot for the fourth weekend in a row, drawing more than 221,000 viewers from October 30th through November 1st. That brings its total to over 2,580,000 tickets sold. It hit 2,000 admissions in just 25 days and crossed 2,500,000 in 33 days, which beats the first slam dunk by three days and matches the pace of Chainsaw Man the movie, Reza Arc. Behind it, Brad Pitt's Heart of the Beast took second place with about 162,000 viewers, while The Secret of the CSAT exam, starring Lee Sunbin and Yu Zhe Myung, came in third with roughly 44,000.
SPEAKER_01EXO members Kai and Sehun are teaming up as a brand new duo unit. SM Entertainment confirmed on November 2nd that the pair will release their first unit album this coming December, asking fans for lots of support. The two are both born in 1994, and they have long been the performance backbone of EXO thanks to their sharp dance lines, stylish visuals, and commanding stage presence. Fans have already seen their chemistry up close since Sehun appeared as a guest at Kai's first solo Encore concert last September, and the two have shared screen time on several variety shows, including Kai's web series and the ENA travel show Global Marble World Trip season 4, where they appear as travel partners. This news follows EXO's eighth full album, Reverse, released in January, which climbed to number one on the iTunes top album charts in 35 countries and regions.
SPEAKER_02Actress Xin Zegong has won an important legal victory against an online troll who targeted her. According to her agency, The Present Company, an appeals court in Seoul sentenced the offender to eight months in prison and took him into custody right away. Industry reports say he anonymously posted hundreds of insulting messages over about two months, including threats aimed at her family. The court noted that she had to keep working while living in fear and anxiety, and it rejected his appeals for leniency, which cited depression and remorse. The agency says it will keep taking a zero-tolerance approach to this kind of harassment, and it thanked fans who gathered evidence and sent in tips, calling the ruling a result of working together.
SPEAKER_01This time, all eight members rocked black and white track jackets, giving off an effortlessly cool, sporty vibe with plenty of individual attitude in every pose and expression. The excitement is already building thanks to their pre-release track, Drip, which has charted on iTunes and Apple Music in multiple regions, landed near the top of Korean charts, and even appeared on several of the UK's official charts. The new album also ranked fourth on Spotify's countdown chart global before its official release, and industry reports say the title track, Up, promises a polished showcase of the group's signature sound. Mark your calendars for November 13th at 2 in the afternoon Korean time when the album drops, and get ready for their world tour Zero to All, kicking off in Incheon this coming January.
SPEAKER_02TWS just dropped the music video for their new title track Call My Name from their second single album to US, and it is a visual treat. The six members, Xinyu, To Hun, Yongje, Hanjin, Chihun, and Kyongmin, take viewers through surreal, symbolic scenes about the anxieties of youth, then burst into energetic choreography on the streets of Yoido and Hongde, including a sharp, synchronized dance across a wide crosswalk. The song is a youth anthem about finding courage because someone believes in you, built on jazz pianist Yun Sokto's piano and a driving drum and bass rhythm, with Yongje, Xinyu and To Hun all helping to write the lyrics. Industry reports say the group will begin music show promotions with Music Bank on November 6th. They will also perform at the Career Grand Music Awards on the 8th and the Melon Music Awards on the 14th, so fans will have plenty of chances to catch them on stage.
SPEAKER_01Big congratulations are in order for Soyan, the former Tiara member who just announced she is pregnant with her first child, a baby boy. She shared the happy news on social media on her fourth wedding anniversary, saying the baby is due soon and that she has been grateful every single day since she found out. Soyan said the pregnancy came as a precious gift while she and her husband, soccer player Chuyu Min, were working through the hardship of his injury, which forced him to return home before the 2026 World Cup finals. She also posted a sweet video of Cho kissing her baby bump, and industry reports note that the soon-to-be dad has been studying up on parenting. Fellow stars quickly sent their love, with Hamundong leaving a warm congratulatory comment, while Qian and Hyomin of Tiara showed their support with likes. Virtual Idol group Plave is lending a helping hand to children around the world, donating 100 million one to the UNICEF Korea Committee. News sources report that this gift follows a social contribution agreement the group signed with UNICEF back in August, and the funds will go toward helping kids facing threats like conflict, disasters, and poverty. The members are also giving their time, as they will serve as keynote speakers at UNICEF Korea's Children's Festa on the 20th, World Children's Day, speaking on the topic of children's mental health in the digital world. Plave said they hope even a small contribution can make a difference for children in difficult situations, and that they want to help build a better tomorrow together. On the music side, the group recently made a comeback with their fifth mini album, Hyperdrive.
SPEAKER_02Rookie group Zykers is going full rock with their eighth mini album, Root Zero The Calling, which they celebrated at a showcase in Seoul on Monday, about five months after their last comeback. The title track, Dienamite, spelt with the word die tucked inside, is a guitar-driven rock song that captures the group's motto of Do or Die, and leader Minjay wrote, composed, and arranged it, making it the first self-produced song of his to be chosen as a title track. Members Sumin and Yechan also joined in on the lyrics, and Minja said he wanted to bring out sides of each member that the public hasn't fully seen yet. On stage, the 10 members kept switching formations at a rapid pace, and fans will love the moments where one member holds another's microphone like a rock vocalist at a stand, all while staying live. Their goal this time is a first ever music show win, and they even got a cheer from label seniors ITs, with the album now out on major streaming platforms and a fan showcase set for tonight.
SPEAKER_01Trotstar Chiangmin Hoo is returning with his fourth mini album in the Essay series, called SA EP4, which is set for release on the 24th. His agency, Ho Entertainment, announced the news through his social media and fan cafe, and a pre-release single titled To a Friend Called Life will drop on November 4th at 6 in the evening, along with a music video. This comeback comes about a year after his remake tribute album, Analogue Volume 1, won plenty of love from fans. The lead track is an adult contemporary trot song with a jazzy feel, blending warm piano melodies, a light rhythm, and town's relaxed, effortless vocals, which makes it a perfect match for the deepening autumn mood. He will also perform the song on stage for the very first time at the 2026 KGMA on November 7th, kicking off his promotions and building anticipation for the full album.
SPEAKER_02On November 2nd, the company posted a notice on the global fan platform Weaverse, warning that it will pursue legal action against malicious slander, personal attacks, and false rumors spreading across social media and online communities. Industry reports say the harassment has been especially severe toward members currently serving in the military, and the agency worries it could even disrupt their stable service. Pledis says it is already collecting evidence and will take both civil and criminal action once illegality is confirmed, including against accounts based overseas, and deleting posts or accounts will not save anyone. The company also stressed a zero tolerance policy, noting that not only original posters, but also people who spread the content can be punished. And with nine of the 13 members having served or currently serving in the military since 2024, fans will be watching closely.
SPEAKER_01Kim Jehuan is officially back on stage, and his fans, known as Wind, made sure he felt it. Industry reports say he wrapped up his two-day solo concert titled Yobek, meaning blank space, at Blue Square in Seoul on October 31st and November 1st, marking his first show in about three years since finishing his military service. The ballad singer had the crowd jumping and shouting for encores, even joking that he could not hear anything because the cheers were so loud. He showed off powerful high notes while playing guitar, performed drama soundtrack hits, and even surprised everyone with dance-filled covers of songs by FinKL, TVXQ, BTS, and New Jeans. Fellow 101 members Yunjizong, Huangmin, and Idehui dropped by to cheer him on, and Kim closed with a new unreleased song called Even in the Next Life, promising fans more new music to come.
SPEAKER_02TVN's period drama 100 Days of Lies is on a roll, hitting a new personal best with a nationwide average viewership rating of 9.8% for its 8th episode, which aired on November 1st, according to Nielsen Career. The series started at 5.3% for its premiere and has climbed steadily ever since, with its even-numbered episodes topping 9% in just 4 tries, so a double-digit rating feels very close. The episode also ranked first across all channels, including terrestrial networks, and led the key 2-4-9 demographic among every channel. In the story, Kim Yujong's character Li Gagyong and Pak Jinyong's character Kim Tewung grew closer as he shared his Chusan-era name with her, though Gagyeong also found herself in danger while hiding a bomb. The ending was the real showstopper, when Gagyeong comforted a wounded Tewung by using her wish ticket to ask him not to cry. A moment that has fans buzzing.
SPEAKER_01Boy Group 82 Major has officially confirmed a US tour, and fans are already buzzing. Their agency, Great M Entertainment, announced that the group will hold the 82 Club Out of Control Tour in the United States from November 17th through December 19th. The tour will stop in major cities, including Orlando, New York, Kansas City, and Dallas, and shows in those areas have already sold out, which really shows how hot their local popularity is. With stops in Seoul, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States, 82 Major is expected to prove its reputation as a true performance idol group while expanding its global reach.
SPEAKER_02The group finished with three sold-out nights at Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, after stops in Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, and Buenos Aires. And the set list mixed songs from their fifth studio album with hits like Fake Love, Fire, Idol, Butter, and Dynamite. The tour brought some firsts and reunions too, with their first full group shows in Colombia and Argentina, a debut visit to Peru, and emotional returns to Chile after nine years and Brazil after seven. Industry reports say the impact went beyond the stage. In Buenos Aires, 96% of the audience traveled in from elsewhere, with spending estimated at about 460 billion won, while flight bookings in Bogota jumped nearly 47%. The members called it one of the happiest memories of their lives, and the tour now heads to Asia and Australia, with the next stop in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on the 19th.
SPEAKER_01Ives Kao is bringing classic literature to life this fall. Starship Entertainment announced on November 2nd that she will serve as a narrator for an audio learning project called Literature in Textbooks Read by Idols, a collaboration between Korea's Ministry of Education and the educational broadcaster EBS. The series features K-pop artists reading 30 works from high school literature textbooks, and Kyle will read The Joys and Sorrows of Work by author Tao-din, a story about office life set in a Pangyo tech company. Industry reports say her calm, steady voice captures everything from the pride of achievement to the bittersweet feeling. Of unfair situations at work. Fans know she is a big book lover, having hosted her own web show about reading, and she was also named a partner for the government's Korea Reads 2026 campaign back in April. And you can listen to her episodes starting November 4th at 9 in the morning on the Hamke School website.
SPEAKER_02Treasure is back with a bold new sound, dropping the digital single Shock today at 6pm Korean time. The track is an electronic hip-hop song built on trendy synth sounds and a fast, high-energy flow, and it keeps the heavy hip-hop roots that YG is known for while adding the group's signature power and dynamism. One of the catchiest touches is the lyrics, which borrow from the classic 1TYM track Hot Dugo. So fans can expect a hooky, addictive bridge full of chantable lines. YG's head producer, Yang Hyunzop, said on the label's official blog that Treasure is making the biggest musical shift of its career, and he asked fans to look forward to the group's full-fledged second act, which will stretch into 2027. With Shock Now out, it looks like a confident new starting point for the group.
SPEAKER_01Big news from the industry today. Hybe, the powerhouse company behind BTS 17 and La Seraphim, has announced that it was hit by a system hack that exposed personal information. According to industry reports, the company discovered unusual outside access during a recent internal security check traced to a document preview tool from an outside vendor linked to its electronic approval system. The leaked files came from its internal approval and expense systems, and the affected data includes details of partner company staff and former employees, such as names, contact information, addresses, and in some cases, financial and identification details. Hybe has formally apologized, saying it has blocked the attacker's access routes and promised to strengthen its security monitoring and access controls to prevent a repeat.
