SPEAKER_01Today is October 27th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_00Let's dive right in!
SPEAKER_01Blackpink's Jisoo is back with another pre-release single, and fans are already buzzing. Industry reports say she dropped a logo, teaser images, and a teaser video over three days, hinting at a fresh concept change, with Jiso rocking full bangs and black nails while peeking out from behind a sparkling curtain. The track is called Addic, the second pre-release from her first full-length solo album, following last month's single Click, which landed in the top 10 on iTunes top song charts in 43 regions and countries. Jisoo has also been building her solo career alongside group activities, earning a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with the collaboration single Eyes Closed. You can hear Addicted when it drops on October 30th at 8 in the morning Korean time.
SPEAKER_00Band FT Island is planning to wrap up the year together with fans, according to industry reports. The group will hold its solo concert called FT Sod on December 26th and 27th at Myongha Live Hall in Yongdung Po Shaur, marking the fourth time they have held a show under that title since debuting. The name blends FT Island and Episode, reflecting the members' idea that the messages in their songs come together as episodes of one big sweet story. Tickets go through NOL, with a pre-sale for paid fan club members on November 2nd and general sales opening on November 5th. Since debuting in 2007 with the album Cheerful Sensibility, the band has won fans over with hits like Lovesick, Like the First Day, Hope, and Severely.
SPEAKER_01Singer Choi Yenna is about to take on a beloved Jpop classic, putting her own spin on Ayotsuka's hit Sakurambo. A teaser released on the 26th shows off a playful, kitschy look, with cherries front and center, a bold red colour scheme, and cute touches like ribbons and stars. The original song came out in 2003 and has been loved for its bouncy, addictive melody. Kang Nam, who is overseeing the project, says Choi Yana is the perfect fit in all of Korea for this song, which has fans excited about how well the two may match. The remake is set to arrive on major music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 17th of next month.
SPEAKER_00Heads up, fans of the group X-Love. Member Hyun has injured her leg while practicing for the group's upcoming comeback. Their agency, Strangelab, announced on October 27th that she will sit out the showcase for the third mini album titled I Equals Not I, scheduled for October 28th. Following medical advice that she needs plenty of rest, the showcase will go ahead with the remaining three members, and her future schedule will depend on how her recovery goes. Industry reports say the agency will share more details later and is doing everything it can to help Hyun get back to fans in good health, while the group, which debuted last January with a genderless concept, still plans to release the album on schedule.
SPEAKER_01Here's one for drama fans who like their romance on the big screen. The short-form historical drama Quang Gun, the Crown Prince's Woman, based on a popular web tune, is heading to Lotte Cinema for an exclusive theatrical release on November 18th, following its earlier debut online. Aktor Songjun plays the tragic Crown Prince Li Hun, a war hero whose life is constantly threatened by a jealous king, while Chu takes on the role of Unwu, an assassin disguised as a palace maid who ends up falling for her target. Pak Ji Hun, also known as Swings, rounds out the main trio as the prince's loyal bodyguard and only friend, bringing some playful energy to the story. Director Chuo Ba Yun says he worked to preserve the dangerous line-crossing romance of the original, and he points to the stunning visuals on a large screen as the must-see highlight. Industry reports say the cast also includes Kim Yung-su, Chu Su Yang, and Yom Songgy, so there's plenty of talent to watch for in theaters.
SPEAKER_00A20 Light is making a big splash right out of the gate, landing in the top 10 of both of Billboard's global charts at the same time. Their debut digital single, Neon, came in at number 8 on the Billboard Global 200, and it jumped a whopping 104 spots to number 3 on the Global Excluding US chart, all just about two weeks after its release on October 13th. According to Billboard, the track pulled in 25.9 million streams worldwide, plus 12,000 in sales during the tracking week of October 16th through 22nd. At home, Neon hit number one on Mellon's top 100 in just 29 hours, has held that spot for 13 days straight, and has already earned four music show trophies. The song is also doing well in Japan, where it reached number two on Billboard Japan's top user-generated songs chart, and in China, where it topped QQ Music's charts, which shows this rookie group is turning heads far beyond Korea.
SPEAKER_01A 20 Lite's new track, Neon, is lighting up K-pop, with its music video passing 26.59 million views as of October 26th, and Neon Bright wins on music shows and streaming charts. In a new interview, art director Haiye Jin and music video director Meltmirror explained how they built the visuals, drawing on the Gen X soft club look and the optimistic, game-like futurism of 1990s and 2000s digital imagery. Meltmirror said the movement started from play, with the nine members' precise choreography shot like an action film to land every hit, including the viral opening dance by Siri and Aijing. Haye Jin added that the team wanted the group to look unified in matching outfits while still highlighting each member's charm, like Bora's bob cut and Aijing's bright brown hair. The video also steps out of its artificial game world into a sunlit garden, and Melt Mirror hopes fans will look back on it years from now and feel proud of where their love for the group began.
SPEAKER_00Mamamoo's Wii in got emotional while looking back on the group's peak years during a recent fan platform livestream. Chatting casually while eating, she said the world tour has been bringing up a lot of feelings and that she tears up often on stage. She admitted there were times in her early 20s when the nonstop schedule felt so exhausting that she disliked it. But now she misses those days and even wonders if she could do it all again. She also shared that she plays old Mamma Moo videos when she drinks alone and sometimes ends up crying. And she recalled that when she once told broadcaster Kim Xinyong she wanted to quit, Kim promised her that she would definitely miss those days someday. A message she now fully understands. Meanwhile, the recently reunited group is on its Mamamoo 2026 world tour called Forward, with a Tokyo show coming up and the final stops set for Taipei on November 28th and 29th.
SPEAKER_01JYP Entertainment is pushing back on reports that a Japanese-linked investment group is trying to buy a stake in the company. Industry reports say two firms, the Nexrock Group and SVCV, announced they plan a public tender offer in November, aiming to acquire between 25 and 50% of JYP's issued shares, which could be enough to secure management control. They also said they would privately send JYP a letter of intent before the offer begins. JYP, however, said on the 26th that it has received no such proposal from either group. Even with the two sides telling different stories, JYP's stock jumped in after-hours trading, climbing about 14% from the regular session close to reach 42,151.
SPEAKER_00Eyelit just turned into mischievous black agents in the music video for Arrest Me, the title track from their fifth mini album, Break Even. The roughly 3-minute and 9-second video dropped on the 26th through the Hybe Labels YouTube channel, following the members as they close in on a mystery target with relentless determination. Fans got a visual treat as the group went undercover with everything from special agent outfits to detective looks, and the choreography features playful point moves like blowing whistles while chasing down the runaway. The biggest surprise comes at the very end, when actor Song Gang makes a cameo, pulling off a mask and flashing a meaningful smile. The electro pop track delivers a bold warning to someone who confuses habitual kindness for romantic interest, and Eilet will perform it on KBS's Music Bank this coming Friday, the 30th.
SPEAKER_01Hybe is moving its entire stake in Tunamu, the company behind Korea's biggest crypto exchange Upbit, over to its US subsidiary, Hybe America. According to a regulatory filing today, Hybe will contribute about 861,000 shares, a 2.47% stake, valued at roughly 378.2 billion one, which equals about 10.65% of the company's equity. Hybe America is issuing new shares of the same value to accept the Tunamu stock in place of cash, and Hybe described the move as a way to build a more efficient management system for its investment assets and global investments. Hype first bought into Tunamu back in 2021 for around 500 billion won. And this transfer comes ahead of a planned share swap between Tunamu and Nava Financial in March 2027. Once that deal closes, the Tunamu shares held by Hybe America will convert into NAVA Financial shares, and the transfer itself is scheduled for November 30th.
SPEAKER_0017's Jong Han and Joshua are taking Japan by storm with their first mini album, Dreamscape. According to the latest Oricon tally covering October 19th through 25th, the duo hit number one on the weekly album ranking with roughly 66,000 copies sold, after already topping the daily album chart for two days in a row. Back home, the album sold 800,000 copies in its first week, landing at number one on the Hanteo weekly chart, and it also took second place on China's QQ Music Digital Bestseller Album Chart. In Japan, it climbed to the top of both the Line Music Real-Time album chart and the iTunes Japan Top Albums chart. The record explores dreams in two senses, the unconscious fantasies we drift through and the ideals we hope to reach in real life. And the duo will now head out on a solo tour across six cities, along with a pop-up store in Tokyo's Shibuya running from November 6th to 23rd.
SPEAKER_01This electronic dance pop track has a catchy melody, layered harmonies, and playful ad libs, and Guyel and Liz helped write the lyrics. Here's a preview. Now, back to more news.
SPEAKER_00BTS leader RM is getting credit for giving a big boost to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The Guardian reported that fans are flocking to the city for his exhibition, called RM XSF M O M A, Between You and Me, which opened earlier this month and pairs 142 pieces from his personal collection with 36 works from the museum. Industry reports say more than 66,000 tickets have been sold, and advanced bookings are running six times higher than for any previous show at the museum. Exhibition merchandise sold out in about three hours, and the buzz comes at a perfect time since the museum posted a $5 million deficit last year and cut staff. Meanwhile, BTS is still on their Aderang World Tour, with shows coming up in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the 28th, 30th, and 31st.
SPEAKER_01Actors Li Kwang Su and Pak Unbin were honored by the government at the 11th day of finance ceremony, held in Seoul on the 27th. The Financial Services Commission handed out 194 awards in total, covering innovative finance, inclusive finance, and savings and investment. Li Kwang Su received a Prime Minister's commendation in the Savings and Investment category, recognized for charity work such as supporting children's medical bills and relief supplies, along with promoting healthy saving and investing habits. Pak Unbin took home the Financial Services Commission Chairman's Commendation in the same category, thanks to her social contribution campaigns with the financial sector and her ongoing donations and volunteer work alongside her fan club for vulnerable communities. Industry reports say Commission Chairman Lee Okwon expressed hope that finance can become another name for hope. A nice note for two stars known as much for their generosity as their acting.
SPEAKER_00Pre-saving lets listeners sign up for a notification before an album drops, so it is a handy way to measure how much fans are anticipating a release. Industry reports say that on the very first day of pre-saves, back on September 28th, participation was about 3.5 times higher than for their previous release. Their ninth mini album, Perfect Storm, features six tracks, including the title song Angelbite, and it arrives on November 16th at 6pm Korean time, exploring the growing pains of Gen Z as they move from teenage fantasy to the weight of reality.
SPEAKER_01Hip hop icon Jay-Z is heading to the Super Bowl stage, with the NFL announcing that he will headline the Halftime show on February 14th next year. This comes about seven years after he signed a partnership deal with the league, and he has been advising on the halftime show through his company, Rock Nation. The news arrives right after he wrapped up his 30th anniversary world tour with a finale concert at SoFi Stadium. In a statement, Jay-Z said it has been a long journey from his debut album Reasonable Doubt to the Super Bowl halftime stage, adding that it feels like a dream come true. With 25 Grammy wins and the second most Grammy nominations in history, behind only his wife Beyoncé, he joins a halftime lineup that has included Bad Bunny, Rihanna, The Weekend, Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
SPEAKER_00Baby Don't Cry is coming back next month with a brand new digital single called Replay, set for release on November 4th in both Korea and Japan. Industry reports say Sai, the head of P-Nation, is serving as executive producer, while Crush also joined in on the songwork. Replay is an RB track built on a two-step garage rhythm, a style that grows out of the 90s electronic dance genre known as UK Garage, and it's known for its rhythmic groove. The song tells a story of memories that won't fade and feelings that keep coming back, all expressed in a restrained, understated way. This release also kicks off the group's Japan debut, which continues with the mini-album Daybreak and Replay, arriving on January 20th through Warner Music Japan.
SPEAKER_01Johnny Depp is back with another wildly eccentric transformation. This time as the grumpy miser in the new film Scrooge, a Christmas Carol. Industry reports say the main poster just dropped on October 27th, giving fans a first look at the dark, dreamy mood of this gothic fantasy adventure directed by Ty West. Based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, the story follows a cranky old penny pincher who is visited by ghosts on Christmas Eve, and the tagline teases, Three Ghosts in One Night. Depp is joined by an impressive ensemble that includes Ian McKellen from The Lord of the Rings, plus Rupert Grint, Sam Claflin, and Daisy Ridley. The film arrives in theaters on November 11th, so it could be a perfect early treat for holiday movie lovers.
SPEAKER_00Trotstar, Song Gayen showed off her professional call at the 11th Kungzin Bei Dancing Reeds Festival in South Chola Province, where an overly excited audience member started shouting, jumping up from his seat, and even throwing his clothes near the stage. Instead of panicking, she grabbed the mic and teased him in a warm, folksy dialect, asking how much rice wine he had really had, and telling him that being happy is fine, but bothering others is not. When he kept at it, she turned firmer, warning that he would be asked to leave and joking that she would tie him to the fence if he did not settle down, which drew big applause from the crowd. Even so, she smoothed things over by telling everyone else that every venue has one of these fans and to let him be, flashing a relaxed smile as she carried on with the show. She finished by thanking her fans for staying put to see her despite the rainy weather, turning a potentially awkward moment into a touching one.
SPEAKER_01Rookie group Andable is back with their first comeback, the mini-album Sequence 2 Attraction, which they showcased for media in Seoul today. Following their curiosity-themed debut, the five members, Tang Hao, Yuzhan Zun, Ricky, Kim Gubin, and Han Yujin explore the feeling of being drawn to someone, and the title track French Kissing is a tropical RB song with a sleek, sensual performance built on soft, controlled moves and a signature lick-inspired hand gesture. Ricky and Kim Gubin add a fresh twist with French rap verses, and Ricky shared that learning the pronunciation was tough but fun. The group's debut album sold 730,000 copies in its first week, and they've already collected 12 trophies from major award shows. With their first fan concert coming in December, Kim Gubin says he hopes this year will be remembered as the Year of Andable, and the full album drops on streaming platforms at 6 this evening.
SPEAKER_00TXT's Label Mates TWS are giving fans a first taste of their upcoming single album titled To Us. On October 26th, the group dropped a highlight medley video of about 1 minute and 30 seconds on the Hive Labels YouTube channel. The clip turns the members' journey toward the stage into a game, with characters who look like each member completing music note missions. In the background, listeners can catch snippets of tracks like the title song Call My Name, along with We Up and Heavy, and the title track stands out with a catchy piano melody and heartfelt lyrics about giving it your all and throwing yourself in fearlessly. The album captures the worries and trial and error the members went through while finding their own path, and the group hopes it will resonate with listeners their age. So mark your calendars because To Us arrives on November 2nd.
SPEAKER_01Restene is gearing up for a comeback with a scent-inspired twist, and fans just got a taste of what's coming. The group dropped a highlight medley video on October 26th for their fourth mini album titled Pulse, which arrives on November 3rd at 6 in the evening Korean time. The preview features all five members, Won Hee, Liv, Minami, Mei, and Jenna, along with snippets from the album's five tracks, including the title track With, plus Finest Thing, Dragon, Inside Out, and Meme. The clips move from addictive hooks to calm lyrical melodies, hinting at a wide range of moods. The big concept this time is Musk, a scent meant to capture the shared body warmth between artist and audience, while the album titled Pulse stands for a heartbeat and tells the story of a dream becoming real when it meets someone else.
SPEAKER_00That sends the group straight to the top of the daily album chart and marks the best opening of their career, roughly 40% higher than their previous mini album's first day sales. The title track, Arrest Me, is climbing fast too, jumping 53 spots on Melon's top 100 in just four hours to land at number 19, while also ranking high on Bugs and Genie. Overseas, the song and their earlier hit, It's Me both showed up on Japan's line music real-time chart, and the music video crossed 4 million YouTube views in just 12 hours, trending in 19 countries and regions.
