SPEAKER_02We're your hosts bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_00Today is October 26th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_02Let's dive right in!
SPEAKER_00Wanus kicked off their new world tour called Full Moon with two energetic shows on October 24th and 25th at Peiang Hall at Zedong University in Seoul. The group opened with Valkyrie, then leaned into their signature Eastern-inspired style with songs like Tang and Woramin before moving through softer, more emotional moments with tracks like Same Scent and We Run for Youth, and showing off their stage skills with Paila Kumigo and Stupid Love. In the second half, they brought the heat with songs like Grenade, Kada, and Unrebuttable, and then wrapped up with encore performances including Black Mirror, leaving fans with a lasting impression. The shows felt especially meaningful because all five members performed together for the first time in a while, and they thanked their fandom, Tumun, promising to repay the love on the rest of the tour. Following their five-member album First Light released last month, Wanus will now carry the tour on to Latin America, Europe, North America, and Asia, according to industry reports.
SPEAKER_02Eilet is back with a brand new look, trading their magical girl and taekwondo concepts for stylish black-clad agents in their fifth mini-album, Break Even. The group held a media showcase in Seoul on October 26th, introducing the title track Arrest Me, an electro pop song driven by an addictive whistle sound, with lyrics about calmly ending a one-sided relationship with someone whose habitual kindness led you on. The four tracks form one connected story, moving from realizing your feelings were one-sided, to frustration, to cutting ties, and finally to moving on with a lucky girl attitude. During the performance, the members wore outfits inspired by detective characters in boys' comics, mimicked finger guns for the arrest motion, and even used real whistles in the choreography. The members also shared that this is their first comeback as a four-member lineup, as Mocha is still focused on recovery, and the album arrives on major music platforms at 6 p.m. today.
SPEAKER_00Veteran singer Kim Gon Mo is stepping up his 35th anniversary celebration by teaming up with Music New, the music business affiliate of the entertainment company New. His agency, Konum Entertainment, announced on the 26th that the two sides recently signed a partnership deal, and Music New will actively support his upcoming songs and album releases. This follows his July 1st single, Where Am I Headed, his first new release in about 10 years, which reminded fans why he's called an original national singer. He also sold out Sor and Pusan during his live tour earlier this year, and that momentum rolled into his nationwide 35th anniversary tour, which kicked off in Pegu on the 10th. Next up are stops in Tonju on the 31st, Quangju on December 5th, and Kuyang on December 26th, with more cities lined up through next year.
SPEAKER_02Police have sent the late actress Kim Zheron's mother and several related figures to prosecutors, according to industry reports. Kim Zuian's agency, Gold Medalist, announced the results of the police investigation on the 26th following complaints it filed over the spread of false claims. Police found that the suspects took part in spreading false information, and the charges include defamation through false statements, distributing footage taken with a camera, and attempted coercion. The list also includes a person who posed as the actress's aunt, the family's lawyer, and a YouTuber, the latter two accused of leading two press conferences using fabricated materials. Gold medalists thanked investigators for their work, while police had earlier decided in July not to send the case over claims about Kim Su heon's relationship with the actress to prosecutors, citing insufficient evidence.
SPEAKER_00Big news in the K-pop world. Singer Yunha has officially parted ways with her agency of 14 years, C9 Entertainment. According to her legal representatives, she notified the company last month that she was terminating her exclusive contract, citing unpaid settlement money from her entertainment activities, and a request to fix the problem went unaddressed. Industry reports say the agency acknowledged in an official letter that the termination took effect on the 14th of last month, so the contract is now officially over. That said, the money issue isn't settled yet, as Yunha has already filed a lawsuit, and her legal team says the unpaid funds will be handled calmly within the legal process. Junha had been with the agency since 2012 and renewed her contract just last January, but she plans to keep making music despite all of this.
SPEAKER_02Sharing the forecast along with details about Eilet's new music. This is her first time ever stepping in as a weathercaster, and fans can expect her bouncy, high-energy charm, which she has already shown off in variety programs like When He Is Twenty. The timing is perfect, since Eilet releases its fifth mini album, Break Even, on the 26th at 6 in the evening, with the title track I'll Arrest You leading the promotions. The song's stage video even landed on YouTube's trending music charts in both Korea and Japan within two days of its release, and the group will appear on MNET Plus's Hide and Seek 2 on the 30th.
SPEAKER_00Get ready, TwiceFans, because Nyon is coming back as a solo artist on November 20th. JYP Entertainment recently teased the news on social media with a fun logo motion that opens on a computer desktop, where clicking the title Nasty sets off a moving screensaver. This new single marks her first solo release in about two years and five months, following her 2024 second mini album simply titled Nah. The title blends the idea of Naion's style with the English word nasty, promising a bold and honest look at her many different charms. According to industry reports, the agency is asking fans to look forward to what this K-pop superstar has in store, with the single dropping at 2 in the afternoon Korean time.
SPEAKER_02Boy Group 82. Major just proved why they are known as a performance-focused idol act, wrapping up their sixth solo concert called 82 Club Out of Control over two nights on October 24th and 25th at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul's Quangjin district. The set list featured fan favourites like Like Fire, their first music show number one song, along with tracks such as FaceTime, Sign, Trophy, Passport, and Hyokgun. The big surprise came when the group debuted two unreleased songs, Bees and Fresh and Clean, delivering them with powerful rap and high-energy choreography that lifted the whole room. Fans were treated to a packed show that also included a special unit stage and a DJ performance, and the crowd answered with loud sing-alongs and cheers. To close things out, the members held a high-bye event, greeting each fan one by one with direct eye contact, which made the night even more memorable.
SPEAKER_00In the video, the members turn into undercover black agents chasing down a mysterious person who stole their hearts and then vanished, with actor Song Gang making a surprise appearance as the key figure in the story. The group shows off a fun range of looks, from sharp special agent outfits to detective-inspired styles, and the choreography includes cute moves like blowing a whistle and making finger guns to announce an arrest. The song itself is an electropop track about mistaking someone's everyday kindness for real interest, and its lyrics carry crime-themed hints that connect to the group's earlier releases, so fans can hunt for hidden storylines. Eilet will perform it for the first time on Music Bank this Friday the 30th, and they are also lined up for several variety shows, including Amazing Saturday, where members Yuna and Wonhee will appear, and Wanhee will also serve as a daily weathercaster on a morning program.
SPEAKER_02Actress Chung Doyon is generating serious Oscar buzz, and it comes nearly two decades after her big win at Cannes. Industry reports say the Hollywood reporter named her a leading contender for Best Actress at the 99th Academy Awards for her role in the film Possible Love, directed by Li Chang Dong. The outlet praised her performance as playful and curious, yet capable of cutting straight to the heart even in the happiest moments, and said it is hard to imagine anyone else playing Miyok, the wife of a laid-off worker. The LA Times described her as a leading actress known for her craft, and IndieWire also placed her on its list of best actress names to watch. John already won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 for Secret Sunshine, also directed by Li Cheng Gong, and Possible Love was chosen in August as South Korea's entry for the best international feature category. The Oscars ceremony will take place on March 15th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
SPEAKER_00Get ready, K-pop fans, because the Melon Music Awards 2026 just revealed a huge lineup of 26 artists. Kakao Entertainment announced that the show will run over two days, November 14th and 15th at Kutzok Sky Dome in Saur. Day one features 14 acts, including IOI, NCT Dream, ITs, Espa, Chuena, and Rise, plus Japanese girl group Hana. Day two brings chart heavyweights like NCT127, I've plave, eyelit, and Kiki, along with the band Hearts to Heart style newcomers from the Mnet show Steelheart Club, known as Heartswave. This year's theme is K-pop Connect, the New Pulse, and the broadcast reach has expanded across Japan and Taiwan, while voting for the top 10 awards is already open and will also count toward Artist of the Year.
SPEAKER_02The singer wrapped up his solo concert called Kisung Jan Rak at Blue Square in Seoul's Yongzan District, with three nights running from the 23rd to the 25th. Over about 150 minutes, he moved from early hits like Delete and Will You Marry Me to a powerhouse cover of Forbidden Love, and even tried rapping on Father to big cheers. Industry reports say the night had its funny moments too, like confetti landing in his throat during Love, which he joked made him a choked-up love song. After an emotional main set ending with By Your Side, fans called him back for an encore full of rock energy, fireworks, and sing-alongs, with supporters flying in from Japan, Indonesia, France, and beyond to celebrate the return of Lee Sungi the singer.
SPEAKER_00IT's just revealed the track list for their 15th mini album, Golden Hour Part 6, and the title track is called Up, a song about aiming even higher. The album holds five songs in total, including Anemia, Drip, Faith, and Hollow Victory, and it arrives on November 13th at 2 in the afternoon Korean time. Industry reports say the group is teaming up again with producers behind their signature hit Bad, while members Hongjung and Mingy wrote the lyrics for every track, keeping that unmistakable IT's flavour. The pre-release single Drip, which came out on October 23rd, passed 10 million YouTube views in just three days, thanks to its confident message and powerful choreography. The group has also been busy on the festival circuit in Los Angeles and Taipei, where their LA mega dance challenge with fans caught the attention of international media.
SPEAKER_02Singer Kim Guangzhin is making a big return, with his first new song in about nine years arriving on November 11th. News sources say the track has a bright, upbeat rhythm, which gives it a noticeably different mood from the music he's been known for. He'll follow the release with a solo concert called Fly Away on December 5th at 6pm at KBS Arena in Seoul, the biggest venue of his career so far. After selling out his earlier concerts, fans and industry watchers are curious to see whether he can fill this larger stage too. The show will feature his beloved signature songs, and he plans to perform the new single live for the very first time. Kim debuted as a composer in 1991 and rose to fame with the group The Classic, whose hits include Magic Castle, Tungjongo, and Letter. This single serves as the finale of the The Sin series, telling the story of a couple who realize that being together is a blessing and then become certain of their destiny in another parallel world. The group has built a distinctive identity with its vampire concept and strong storytelling, and their previous release, The Sin Bliss, made history as their first album to top the Billboard 200 in the United States. They also appeared at big global events like the FIFA World Cup North America Celebration Festival, Campo Marte, and San Diego Comic Con. And their agency says this comeback is the members' way of thanking fans with music. The track will be released digitally on November 20th at 2 in the afternoon Korean time, with the physical album following on the 23rd.
SPEAKER_00Girl Group Resine has just been named an honorary citizen of Koji City, and they're the very first entertainer ever to receive that honor. News sources report that the city announced on the 26th that the group was chosen as its 70th honorary citizen, thanks in large part to spreading the viral Kote Yahumim and showing off the charm of the region. The members were also appointed as Koja's promotional ambassadors back in May, and their love for the city went beyond promotion as they donated 50 million won to residents hit by heavy rainfall that same month. Their fans, known as Remin, stepped up too, with industry reports saying they contributed 110 million won to support flood victims through a National Disaster Relief Association. Next up, Resine is gearing up for a comeback, with their fourth mini-album titled Pulse arriving on November 3rd.
SPEAKER_02Big news from 17's duo Chonghan and Joshua, who just proved their album power with their first mini-album, Dreamscape. Industry reports say it sold more than 800,000 copies in its first week, landing at number one on the weekly album chart. On day one alone, it moved over 650,000 copies, breaking the 60,000 copy record set last year by SCoops and Mingyu and setting a new all-time first-day sales record for a K-pop unit album. The duo also climbed global charts, hitting number one on Japan's Oricon Daily Album ranking for two days in a row, topping Japan's Line Music album chart and leading China's QQ Music digital bestseller album chart, while the title track, 12 o'clock, reached number 34 on the worldwide iTunes song chart. Fans can see them live soon as the duo kicks off their journey into dreaming tour at Inspire Arena in Incheon from October 30th through November 1st.
SPEAKER_00Big news for Carrots today. 17 members Sungguan and Dino are enlisting in the Army on October 26th, entering basic training together at an Army Recruit Training Center. After training, they're set to serve as military band members. Their agency, Pletus Entertainment, asked fans not to visit the entrance ceremony since many soldiers and families will be gathering there. To keep the team's momentum going during their absence, the agency says it will share a variety of pre-prepared content with fans, and it's asking carrots to keep cheering them on until they return healthy. Meanwhile, the group's military chapter continues, with Wanu, Vernon, and Ming Yu serving as social service agents, Hoshi, Uji and Pugyum serving in the army, and Tongan already discharged back in June.
SPEAKER_02Here's a surprise hit at the Korean box office. The Japanese animated film Chi Kala, The Secret of Mermaid Island, known locally as Mundakui, has topped the weekend chart for three weeks in a row. It drew about 320,000 viewers last weekend, bringing its total to roughly 2.24 million, and viewers say they came for the adorable characters but left stunned by a chilling twist, with some even comparing it to films like Midsummer and Memories of Murder. Based on the siren arc of the original comic, the story follows the little heroes to a seemingly welcoming island, where a giant siren is secretly taking residents away one by one. Industry reports say the film hit 1 million viewers in 10 days, and 2 million in 24, making it only the second animated title this year to pass 2 million, after Toy Story 5, and it is already a phenomenon in Japan with over 10 million viewers. The buzz has spilled beyond theatres too, with a surprise special stage on MNET's M Countdown, a relay dance challenge, and a newly confirmed 4DX release designed to play up the contrast between cute and creepy.
SPEAKER_00Rookie Girl group A2O Lite just pulled off a huge win, taking first place on SBS's InkyGaio only 13 days after debuting. Their digital single Neon earned the group its first terrestrial music show trophy, and it's already their fourth music show win, following earlier victories on The Show, Show Champion, and M Countdown. Even more impressive, they did it with a digital single alone, no physical album, and Neon hit number one on Mellon's Top 100 just 29 hours after release and has held that spot for 11 days. The song has also topped Circle Chart's Global K-pop digital ranking, Spotify Korea's Daily Chart, Shazam Korea, and China's QQ Music, while landing at number four on Apple Music's Global Daily Top 100. Fans around the world are also fueling the buzz on social media with parodies and fan-made videos of the song's Pear Dance Intro, and the members said they're happy, grateful, and still can't quite believe it.
SPEAKER_02TVN's period drama 100 Days of Lies just hit a new personal best in the ratings. Its sixth episode aired on October 25th and averaged 9.5% nationwide, peaking at 10.4%, according to Nielsen Career. That's a big climb from the premiere's 5.3%, and a jump of 3% points from the previous episode. The drama took the number one spot in its time slot across all channels, including terrestrial networks, and also led among viewers aged 20 to 49, TVN's key target audience. In the episode, Kim Yujong's character Li Gagyong takes on a new. Mission from Kim Hunju's character Yu-Suran, and it ends with a hint that her relationship with Pak Jin Young's Sato Hideo is about to change.
SPEAKER_00Here's a surprise from the Korean box office. The cute animated hit Chikoa, known locally as Monzaki, has turned out to be a little bit spooky. Chiikawa the movie, Secret of Mermaid Island, has topped the weekend box office for three weeks in a row, drawing about 320,000 viewers last weekend and bringing its total to roughly 2.24 million. The film adapts the creepy siren arc from the original comic, in which the adorable characters chase a huge payday to a welcoming island, only to find that a giant siren is quietly taking the residents away. Viewers in their 20s and 30s led the buzz, with word of mouth about the shocking twist helping set the best opening of the year for an animated release in Korea. And the movie is also a massive phenomenon in Japan, where it passed 10 million tickets. Beyond theaters, the film made a surprise special stage appearance on the music show M Countdown, and a 4D X version is now confirmed, with the seats moving to the beat during the rabbit character Uzagi's song. Cute faces, chilling aftertaste, and it looks like those tiny characters aren't done conquering Korean theaters yet.
SPEAKER_02Big news at the Korean box office! The film Taza, the Song of Beelzebub, also known as Taza 4, has officially passed 2 million viewers. According to industry reports from the Korean Film Council's ticketing network, it hit that milestone as of October 26th, making it the only R-rated film released this year to reach that number. Even in its fifth week in theaters, it's still pulling in audiences steadily. The surge has been driven largely by viewers in their 20s and 30s, with people in their 30s making up 31% of CGV bookings, the biggest single age group, and viewers 30 and under accounting for 60% overall. Directed by Choigu Ki, this film serves as the final chapter of the Taza series, bringing together rivals bound by bad blood for one last revenge showdown on the global gambling scene.
SPEAKER_00Girl group Baby Don't Cry is gearing up to take on both the Korean and Japanese music markets at the same time. The group will release a new digital single called Replay on November 4th, and it will drop in Japan the same day through Warner Music Japan, officially kicking off their Japanese debut. Their agency, P-Nation, shared a mysterious teaser video on social media, and it confirmed that the Japanese language version will be released early, ahead of the group's Japanese debut album, Daybreak slash Replay, arriving on January 20th. The group debuted in June of last year with F Girl, and member Kumi's Japanese line, Kumidayo, from that song, became a viral hit with Japanese fans online, who called it addictive and impossible to get out of their heads. With this comeback arriving about eight months after their first mini album, fans are excited to see a fresh new side of the group, and more teaser content is on the way to build the hype.
SPEAKER_02The group dropped their new single, Insomnia, at Midnight Korean time on October 26th, marking their first release in about four months. The song pairs lyrical guitar sounds with the members' aching vocals, which makes it a noticeable shift from their usual style, and lyricist Kimina wrote the words about thoughts that grow sharper as the night gets deeper. The music video also arrived the same day in a drama-style format, with the members acting out the restless feeling of not being able to sleep. To celebrate, fans can visit the Rise into Insomnia pop-up event in Song Sudong's Ho through the 29th, and the group kicks off music show promotions on October 30th, starting with KBS Music Bank, followed by NBC Show Music Core and SBS Inkigayo.
SPEAKER_00Their agency, P Nation, shared an 18-second teaser on official social media on October 26th, showing a tiny ghost flying toward the top of a castle before a scroll-shaped invitation unrolls to reveal the song title. This marks the group's first big step into the Japanese market, and they already have some momentum there since Kumi's line, Kumidayo, from their debut track F Girl, went viral on Japanese social media. Fans can look forward to even more because the group will follow up with a mini album called Daybreak slash replay on January 20th, next year. Industry reports suggest this simultaneous release is a smart move to build on that early buzz overseas.
SPEAKER_02Here's a legal twist in the world of rookie boy groups. Kim Jong-wu of Alpha Drive 1 has filed a lawsuit asking a court to rule on his suspended activities, and his agency, Wake One, has now responded. In a notice posted on its website titled, Guidance on Alpha Drive 1 Activities, the company said it had prepared several options, including specific schedules, and kept discussing his future direction with him. However, those talks failed to produce an agreement, and Wake One explained that the difference in positions has led to legal proceedings. The agency apologised to fans for the worry and fatigue this has caused, and promised to respond sincerely through the proper process. For background, the group formed through the MNET survival show Boys 2 Planet and debuted in January with the mini-album Euphoria. But allegations surfaced that Kim made inappropriate remarks during pre-debut content filming, and he paused his activities in April, so the group is currently performing as a seven-member lineup without him.
SPEAKER_00Fresh developments are swirling around rapper Yang Hongwan, whose affair allegations came from a person who now appears in a new twist. According to industry reports, YouTuber Om Teung released a phone call on his channel in which the accuser said they needed quick cash, which is why they tried to get $30,001, roughly $22, from Yang. In a separate recording, the accuser reportedly asked Om to help clean up their image through his broadcast, even raising the question of splitting any revenue, saying the topic was a hot potato right now. Om replied that there was no need for the accuser to appear on his show. Yang's agency, AP Alchemy, has admitted he went to a motel with the woman but denies any affair, claiming the accuser demanded money and made threats before spreading false claims, and legal action is reportedly underway. It's worth noting that the call was released by Om himself, so not every detail of the case has been independently confirmed.
