BTS is turning all of Singapore into a canvas for the new album 'Arirang,' with Big Hit Music announcing 'BTS The City Arirang Singapore' on Weverse as the longest run in the history of 'The City.' Singapore's tourism board calls it the largest citywide project it has ever done with a single artist, with landmarks like Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the National Gallery Singapore, and Resorts World Sentosa joining in. SEVENTEEN is also making history, landing at number one on Pollstar's Asia Focus Chart with about $97.4 million in tour revenue across 22 large-scale concerts, while KATSEYE stole the spotlight at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles with live performances of 'Pinky Up' and 'Animal.' Elsewhere, Yeon Sang-ho's 'Paradise Lost' has already earned back its net production cost by selling to 118 countries before opening in theaters, and Netflix's 'Severe Trauma Center' will film seasons two and three at the same time after reaching top ten lists in 63 countries. SPEAKER_00We're your hosts, bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_01Today is October 19th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_00Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_01Rise is coming back with something totally different, and fans won't have to wait long. SM Entertainment announced that the group will release a new single called Insomnia at Midnight Korean time on October 26th, about four months after their last release. This track is their first try at acoustic pop, with a quiet, melancholy mood and calm yet heartfelt vocals from all six members. Lyricist Kimina wrote the words, capturing how thoughts of someone grow clearer as the night gets deeper, along with the tangled emotions that follow. Unlike their usual style, there's no signature performance this time, just a focus on vocals, and the group is also set to drop their second full-length album next spring.
SPEAKER_00Distributor CJENM announced that the movie has been sold to 118 countries, which is a rare achievement for a film that hasn't been released yet. It's also Yun's second low-budget project since Face, and it has been building buzz on the festival circuit, from the Toronto International Film Festival to the Busan International Film Festival, where all four screenings sold out. The film has also been invited to the Hawaii International Film Festival's Korean Cinema Special section, with screenings set for November 1st and 4th. Industry reports say its story about family and motherhood resonates across cultures, and Korean audiences can see it in theaters starting October 21st.
SPEAKER_01Animex is back today with their sixth mini album, Strange Muse, dropping at 6 in the evening Korea time, just about five months after their last release, Heavy Serenade. The six-track project is set in their fictional world called Mixtopia, where everyone becomes each other's Muse. And the title track, Long Wish, blends Mumbatun with Afro Future House, pairing dynamic beats with calm piano lines. For the first time since debut, the group also delivers unit songs, with Lily and Heon on a sweet ballad pop track, Sunyun and Pe on a Latin groove, and Tyu and Kutin on fast rap with pop melodies. Every member took part in writing lyrics for their unit songs. Pei also earned a credit on Root Talk, and Kutin even tried composing for the very first time. Fresh off their first ever grand prize win, the members said they see it not as a finish line, but as encouragement to go even further. And their long wish is simply for their fans, called Answer, to stay healthy and happy.
SPEAKER_00Girl group Katsi just turned a world-famous runway into their own stage at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles, which took place on October 19th, Korean time. Industry reports say the group made a surprise entrance from the audience, singing Pinky Up, while the members filmed themselves with handheld cameras and showed off their playful personalities. They then switched gears with animal, smoothly changing formations around the models walking the runway, all while wearing black and pink corsets and mini skirts and singing live on handheld mics without missing a beat. The lineup also featured global pop stars like Tate McCrae, Megan Lee Stallion, and Meggie Moroni, so Kat'Seye was in some seriously big company. The show began in the United States back in 1995, and past performers include icons like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.
SPEAKER_01Some news for Eyelit fans. Member Iroha has sprained her ankle while rehearsing for the group's Encore concert. Industry reports say Bee Lift Lab shared the update on Weaver's on the 18th, explaining that medical staff diagnosed the injury as an ankle sprain. The agency said Iroha is determined to perform, so her participation will be flexible, and some parts of the show may be limited if she has symptoms on stage. Thankfully, the injury is reportedly not serious, and she still performed most of the songs at the concert at Inspire Arena in Inchun that same day. The timing matters because Eilet returns on October 26th with their fifth mini album, Break Even, led by the title track I'll Arrest You, which was first revealed at the Encore Show, and the group is also in the middle of its world tour, with Japan dates coming up in December.
SPEAKER_00Big news for medical drama fans! Netflix's hit series Severe Trauma Center has been confirmed to film seasons 2 and 3 at the same time. Season 1 stars Chu Ji-hun, Chu Yong Wu, Yun Jong-ho, and Tong Jiquang are all returning, with Chu Ji Hun back as the genius trauma surgeon Pek Kanghyok. The one big change is the nurse role of Chun Jang Mi, which newcomer Tong Yein has taken over after a competitive audition, replacing Hai Yong, who had been caught up in a controversy over historical distortion. Industry reports say the show landed on the top 10 lists in 63 countries when it premiered last year, thanks to its bold characters and adrenaline-packed scenes. On the creative side, director Li Doyun will write season 2, and season 3 will bring in fresh talent, a new writer named Tomasi, to add some extra energy.
SPEAKER_01Singer Yangpa is gearing up for her orchestra concert called Pungheng, which means walking together, and she has lined up some special guests. The shows take place on October 31st and November 1st at the Yonzhai University Centennial Hall in Sehur. On opening night, singer-songwriter Ton Jin-hy, who is also the concert's music master, will step onto the stage to share a lyrical set with Yangpa. The following night, actor Kim Namgir joins as a special guest, and fans are curious to see how this unexpected pairing will play out since he has shown his love for singing at past fan concerts. The production also blends a rich live orchestra with AI-powered visuals, and with Yangpa's 30th debut anniversary coming next year, the concert will look back on 29 years of music while hinting at what's ahead, with tickets available now through NOL Ticket and Ticket Link.
SPEAKER_00Get ready for round two of a hit legal drama, because the cast of Good Partner 2 has just held its first script reading. The SBS Friday Saturday series brings back Chang Nara as top divorce attorney Chao Ungyong, who is now opening her own firm called Law Firm Rebom. And she's joined by Kim Hee-yun as Kang He-seong, a sharp, fearless lawyer with five years of experience. Pyu Ji Hun returns as Chon Un-ho, who leaves his old firm to join Rebomb and acts as a human translator for Ungyong's blunt way of speaking, while Pae Jin plays Pak Tesu, a rival lawyer and her college classmate who competes with her for the top spot in divorce law. The production team promises a stronger season, with lawyers using very different strategies to solve their cases, plus fresh partners and rivals that make the relationships even more colourful. Good Partner 2 premieres on November 20th at 9.50 in the evening. So, mark your calendars.
SPEAKER_01Band 1wi just lit up the fall festival season at the Grand Mint Festival 2026, held on October 18th at Olympic Park in Seoul. It was their third year in a row performing at the festival, and the five members, Yunghun, Kang Hyun, Harin, Tungmyong, and Qigwang, showed off a range from lyrical ballads to high-energy rock. They opened with montage, then moved through fan favorites like Imposter, Hide and Seek, La Puta, Pinocchio, and Compass, before closing with the dynamic pair Eraser and Beautiful Runaway to a warm crowd response. Just one day earlier, the band also took part in the K-Live Festival in Bangkok, showing how quickly they are expanding across both domestic and international stages. Fans can look forward to more, because OneWii will hold their sixth live concert called O New Evolution 6 in Yokohama on November 8th and in Taipei on November 22nd.
SPEAKER_00Billy is turning into Master Thieves for their fifth debut anniversary. The group will hold a fan concert called The Heist Squad on November 15th at Sogang University's Mary Hall in Seoul, with a story where the members pull off a daring heist. The poster fits the theme too, designed like a vault with sheet music on it and the numbers 211110 under the dial, a nod to their debut date of November 10th, 2021. Ahead of the show, the group performed at the NOL Festival's K-pop stage on October 17th, where they promised to play key tracks including Work, one of the double title tracks from their first full album. That album, released in May, also gave them a strong showing in Japan, where Work and Zap ranked second and third on the iTunes Dance Top Songs chart.
SPEAKER_01IV is heating up their comeback with a surprise early release. The group drops the title track from their new mini album, Looks Can Kill, on music sites at 6 this evening, and they will debut the stage live at the Spotify Dive Academy event in Seoul's Kangnam district. This comes about eight months after their second full album, Revive Plus, and expands their girl fantasy world with a girl hero concept. Yujin explained that the message has grown from me to us and now focuses on creating positive change together, while Won Yong said she wants fans to know that everyone can be a hero for someone else. The sixth song album features a synth-driven, bass-heavy title track with an explosive final chorus, and lyricist Sojum, who has worked on many of the group's hits, returned alongside member Ray, who also contributed lyrics.
SPEAKER_0017's newest subunit, Chonghan and Joshua, is officially back with their first mini-album called Dreamscape, which dropped at 6 pm Korean time on October 19th on all major music platforms. The 7-track project explores the blurry border between the dreams we have while sleeping and the dreams we chase in real life. And the title track, 12 o'clock, reimagines 1970s and 80s disco funk about chasing something you long for from noon to midnight. The music video teaser has a surreal look, with a train that seems wrapped in snake scales rolling through a painterly grassland. In interviews, Chonghan said he hopes listeners will find the hidden metaphors and feel the tracks flow like one story, while Joshua promised a performance with choreography that shows off their visuals and chemistry. Both members also said they tried new things vocally, including a thicker tone for Chonghan and a more mature sound for Joshua. And they thanked Carrots, the fandom, ahead of their upcoming concerts.
SPEAKER_01Get ready for a new office power battle on the small screen, because actors Tang Gyeong and U Jungse are teaming up for an upcoming NBC Friday-Saturday drama called The Rules of the Line. Industry reports say the political noir follows Take, a bank employee with no connections and no backup, who shakes up the bank's throne with his sharp, almost magical skill at office politics. Tang Gyeong plays Tak Duo, a self-made master of workplace maneuvering who flips the power game by outsmarting the established lines of influence. Ou Jungse takes on the role of Ton Gyeong-ho, a senior executive at Nara Bank who rose from a high school graduate to become a leading candidate for the next bank president, setting up a tense battle of wits between the two. The series is expected to deliver plenty of clever strategy and satisfying payoff for office workers when it premieres in the first half of next year.
SPEAKER_00The song captures the fearless rush of falling for someone, blending a playful melody with addictive housebeats. Plus, it features Korean hip hop talents Kid Millie and Sokodomo for an extra edge. Let's take a listen to a preview.
SPEAKER_01Then, from October 23rd through November 15th, he will team up with the cultural exhibition platform Ground Seesaw, appearing inspired by the song's English subtitle, Seesaw. Across five exhibitions at four Ground Seesaw locations, including Yongzhan and Han Nam, visitors can hear music that Crush personally created for the project, and each venue will have a listening zone where fans can enjoy both the collaboration tracks and the new single. With Crush's smooth, sweet vocals meeting EU's clear, bright tone, anticipation is high for the musical chemistry these two will bring.
SPEAKER_00Singer Gummy is making her comeback with a warm new single called Perfect World, set for release on October 28th at 6pm Korea Time on major music platforms. It's her first new music in about six months, since her April duet Like Spring with 17 Sungwan. Ahead of the release, she has been teasing fans with a puzzle-themed spoiler video that slowly reveals the song title, followed by a cover image painted in colourful crayon that gives off a cozy storybook feel. The new track also kicks off her fall season, because her nationwide Gummy Tour concert 2026 Love begins in Songnam on November 21st and 22nd, then travels to Pushan, Pejian, Shoo, Peegu, Quangzhou, Inchan, and finally Yungyin in January. Debuting back in 2003 with hits like I Should Have Been Your Friend and Memory Loss, Gummy continues to prove her staying power with steady releases year after year.
SPEAKER_01Legal trouble is brewing for the company behind the Grand Mint Festival, as MPMG has been hit with a lawsuit seeking about 510 million won in damages. The case centers on allegations of double contracting involving singer-songwriter Udabin of Udabin Band, whose former agency, Billy Bean Music, says MPMG signed a separate exclusive deal with the band in April 2024, right after a management consignment period ended and without written consent. Billybean Music also claims it suffered major financial losses and never received a single one in settlement payments, while MPMG has denied everything and asked the Seoul Western District Court to dismiss the case. Yudabin responded on social media saying she sought prior approval for both the show appearance and the consignment deal, that the band contract still allows solo activities, and that she repeatedly expressed willingness to honor her solo contract. The first hearing is set for January 28th next year at 10.40 in the morning.
SPEAKER_00Pirates Turn Cowboys! IT's is the face of a brand new idol collection card set called MIIMCA, made in collaboration with the trading card company TELECA. Known for their powerful stage presence and a recent global boost from their song Bad, the eight members show off a fresh side in two versions. Version 1 is a bright, breezy look set in lush green nature with adorable animal moments, while version 2 brings a Western twist with cowboy outfits, horses, and plenty of charisma. Each version comes with four card packs and four goods packs, including autograph cards signed by every member, handwritten inscription cards, and fun extras like keyrings and stickers. The group also appears in fun unit pairings and a full group shot that honors their motto: 8 makes one team. Industry reports say official sales begin on the 19th at 11 in the morning, with online options plus an offline sale at the Teleka Sionzu store starting at noon.
SPEAKER_01Legal news from the NCT camp. A netizen who repeatedly targeted Chisong with malicious posts has been fined 5,000 won in a first trial ruling. SM Entertainment shared the update on October 19th, saying the court found the person's actions, including defamatory videos and posts on platforms like YouTube, violated the information and communications network law. The defendant has already appealed the decision. The agency also revealed it has filed a complaint against a second person who allegedly wrote 462 malicious posts online, and it stressed a zero-tolerance policy with no settlements or leniency, even promising to track and sue repeat offenders after a verdict. On a brighter note, NCT Dream, the unit Chizong belongs to, is set to make its comeback on November 9th with their sixth full-length album.
SPEAKER_00Comedy film The Secret of the CSAT Exam, a title that refers to Korea's college entrance test, held its press screening and media conference in Seoul on the 19th, with Li Zunbin, Yu J myong, Kim Yongmin, Chun Zhok Koo, and director Li Yongje in attendance. The story follows Meng Buram, a small-town Korean language teacher played by Li Zunbin, who ends up in the 40-day sealed exam committee headquarters by an administrative mix-up and scrambles to help create a perfect, problem-free question. Yu Jemyong says he hesitated to play the authoritarian professor Mun Juyo, but chose the role because every family cares deeply about this exam, and he happily went all in on breaking his serious image for laughs. Director Lee, making his feature debut, described the movie as dark chocolate, meaning you laugh along and then feel a little bittersweet at the end. And the cast said the shoot, held at a secluded training center where they all stayed together, was full of laughter. After its premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, the film opens in theaters on the 28th, with a runtime of 99 minutes. And the cast also sent warm words of encouragement to students who are just one month away from taking the real exam.
SPEAKER_01Max Chengmin of TVXQ is back as a soloist after about four years and nine months, and he's doing it in a very Changmin way, with positivity and optimism front and center. His third mini album, All of My Life, dropped on October 19th at 6 p.m., alongside the music video for the title track of the same name, which is a pop rock song built on emotional electric guitar and powerful drums. Industry reports say the melody is so dramatic that some listeners compare it to the theme song of a coming-of-age adventure animation, and the music video shows him transforming into a rocker while everyday people connect through music. The album also includes five more tracks: Hot Blood, The Low, Ya We Go, Sleeping by the Phone, and 99 Boiling Point, with Chao Min writing the lyrics for Yawi Go on his own. Now, in his 24th year since debut, he'll bring the new music to fans with a live tour at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul from November 6th through 8th.
SPEAKER_00The ranking covers tour revenue from August of last year through July of this year, and the group earned about $97.4 million, roughly $130 billion. Their world tour, called New, kicked off in Incheon last September, then rolled through big stadiums in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Bulacan, and several Japanese domes for 22 large-scale concerts in all. In Hong Kong, they became the first K-pop act to sell out four shows at Kaitak Stadium, and their fan meetings in May and June drew around 230,000 people. Industry reports note that Twice, Tomorrow by Together, and BTS followed in second through fourth place, while 17 keeps expanding through unit and solo projects, including Jong Han and Joshua's Dreaming Tour across six Korean cities.
SPEAKER_01Big personal news in the Korean film world. Director Kim Hanmin, age 57, is reportedly getting married. Industry reports say the wedding will take place on November 15th at a hotel in Seoul. Kim made his directorial debut in 2007 with the film Paradise Murdered, and he later became known for large-scale historical epics, including his Admiral Yi Sun-Shin trilogy. His 2014 blockbuster, The Admiral, Roaring Currents, made him a 10 million ticket director, and with about 17.6 million viewers, it still holds the number one spot on the all-time Korean box office list after 12 years. Looking ahead, his next project is Sword, The Blade of Kudumakan, starring Pakbogom as a man who loses his memory and becomes a slave after the fall of Kuguryo. And it's in post-production now with a release targeted for next year.
SPEAKER_00BTS is bringing this year's The City project to a grand finale in Singapore, and it's going to be huge. Industry reports say Big Hit Music announced BTS the City Adirang Singapore through Weaverse, and it will take over the entire city from December 1st to December 31st. That makes it the longest run in the history of the city, and Singapore's tourism board is calling it the largest citywide project it has ever done with a single artist, as well as the first the city Adirang in Southeast Asia. Local partners include Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the National Gallery Singapore, the National Museum of Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa, and more, all helping turn landmarks into spaces themed around the new album Aridang. The project began in Seoul back in March and has since travelled to Las Vegas, Pusan, London, and New York, and the group's Asia tour dates kick off in Kaohsiong, Taiwan on November 19th.
SPEAKER_01The new romantic comedy Nothing Without You, known to fans by the short title Bit Gun No, held its press conference in Seoul, and the mood was all about laughs and warm love. Director Yun Jong-ho, who is best known for Lovely Runner, is back with a story about a top actor and his devoted fan, played by Chung Yonghua and Hong Zong Yi. Chung plays a romance drama specialist with a secret. He breaks into a cold sweat and gets dizzy whenever his lips touch someone else's. Hung takes on a double role as a shy heiress who truly believes she is the heroine of one of his dramas. Industry reports say the project was actually prepared before Lovely Runner but got delayed. And director Yoon believes now is the perfect time to share it. Chung promised there are so many fun moments that every episode could produce about 20 memes, and the show premieres this Saturday at 10.50pm on Lifetime.
SPEAKER_00SBS has confirmed that its upcoming legal drama, Sungzani Sun Yi Da, starring Yi Jehun and Haiyong, has been pulled from its planned February slot, according to industry reports. The network says it is weighing several options, but it's still unclear when, or even whether, the show will air, especially given how many cast and crew members worked on it. The delay follows controversy in August, when pro-Japanese colonial era allegations surfaced about Haiyong's great-grandfather, Anzang Ho, who was reportedly listed as a member of a pro-Japanese organization. Haiong responded with a handwritten apology, saying she had spoken about her ancestor with pride without knowing the history, and she has also stepped away from the Netflix series Mercy for None seasons 2 and 3. In the meantime, the February slot will go to full count, starring Kim Rewan.
SPEAKER_01Rookie Boy group Kivitup is gearing for its first comeback since debut, with the second EP titled Nagari set for release on November 9th at 6pm Korean time. Encode Entertainment announced the news on October 19th, and it arrives about seven months after the group's debut EP came out in April. Kivitup is a multinational boy group formed through Encode's project in the X, and the team is already building hype with teaser content, including the Kivitup Cloud and a new dance challenge account for the upcoming track. The group will be entering a crowded November comeback season, going up against acts like TWS, Reseen, and NCT Dream, who are all returning around the same time. Industry reports suggest this will be a key test of how far the young group can climb in such a competitive lineup.
