Disney Plus is bringing a bold new fantasy to life with Remarried Empress, and its first screening at the 31st Busan International Film Festival had audiences buzzing. Xin Minha, Chu Ji-hun, Li Jong-suok, Li Seyong, and director Chu Su Won sat down for a sold-out guest visit session after showing the first three episodes, fielding eager questions from fans curious about this unique Western-style fantasy world brought to life by Korean actors. The series follows Empress Navier, played by Xin Mina, who faces a shocking divorce from Emperor Su Bishu, played by Ju Ji-hun, after he falls for a runaway slave, and she responds by demanding approval to remarry Prince Heinri, played by Li Jong-Suk. Xinmina admitted the unfamiliar setting felt strange at first, but she poured herself into portraying Navier as a woman making a deeply personal choice amid political chaos, even forming an unexpected bond with a CGI bird character during filming, that she says fans will see more of in behind-the-scenes footage. With a one-month wait still ahead, the cast expressed deep gratitude for the enthusiastic response in Busan, promising fans that Remarried Empress will premiere on Disney Plus on November 4th, with all 10 episodes ready to transport viewers into its richly imagined royal world.

The sold-out show comes on the heels of their stellar performance at the 2026 Busan International Rock Festival and the success of their September digital single, Fucking Rockstar, which clearly fueled fan excitement for tickets. Fans attending will get the very first live preview of the band's third mini album, also titled Blue Ende, which drops just one day before the concert and explores five emotional themes, including regret, despair, and resignation, through its blend of blue and blonde imagery. Since debuting back in June of 2024, Can't Be Blue has built an impressive international resume, selling out a solo show in Taipei, opening for ITs at Italy's Rock in Roma, and becoming the first Korean band ever to win the international final of Germany's massive emergenza festival. After wrapping up these soul shows, the band heads straight into a packed global schedule, including a Tokyo concert later this month, a European tour, and an encore stop in Taiwan come November.

Kim Ji-wan is proving she still has that magic touch with audiences, as her comeback drama is already making waves right out of the gate. Her new SBS series, titled Dr. X, premiered its first episode and pulled in an impressive 11.4% nationwide rating, with viewership peaking at nearly 13% during the broadcast. That opening number actually makes it the highest-rated miniseries debut of the year so far, and it even lands among the top seven first episodes in the history of SBS Friday-Saturday dramas. The show follows Kim Ji Wan as a brilliant and fearless surgeon who isn't afraid to speak her mind against hospital corruption, and that first episode wasted no time showing off her character's god-level surgical skills. With strong numbers across key demographics, too, it looks like Kim Ji-wan's return to the small screen is off to a seriously promising start, and fans are already calling her performance both layered and magnetic.

17's Hoshi is proving that military service definitely isn't slowing down his music output, with the idol dropping a surprise solo track called Boyfriend Today at 6 in the evening. This RB pop song, which Hoshi actually helped write himself, dives into the butterflies and awkward feelings that come with crushing on someone, paired with a bouncy shuffle rhythm and bright synth sounds that match his signature energetic style. This isn't Hoshi's first rodeo when it comes to dropping music while serving in the army, since he's already surprised fans with tracks like Take a Shot on his actual enlistment day, followed by Fallen Superstar and Adiyagi. It's just the latest example of Hoshi's solo evolution, which kicked off back in 2021 with his mixtape Spider and has continued through hits like Tiger Power. Meanwhile, 17 as a whole keeps expanding their musical range through member subunits, with Chonghan and Joshua gearing up to release their first mini-album together on the 19th of this month.

Actress Xinmina opened up about her 25-year journey in the industry during a special actor's house session at the Pusan International Film Festival, and her message was simple: she still wants to keep running. Known as the Queen of Romantic comedies, thanks to hits like Hometown Tatata and My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox, Xinmina has quietly built a career that refuses to stay in one lane, jumping from the chilling thriller pupil to the fantasy period drama The Remarried Empress on Disney Plus. She shared that she first stepped in front of cameras as a middle school model before transitioning into acting with Volcano High and Beautiful Days back in 2001. And even now, she still feels butterflies trying to figure out how to best express herself on screen. The actress is famously fearless when it comes to physical challenges, recalling how she overcame her fear of heights to perform diving scenes for the film Diva, saying that getting physically involved in a role makes her feel like she's already halfway into the character. While currently filming her new drama for NBC and promoting the remarried empress at the same time, Shinyana revealed she's itching to try comedy again after a string of serious roles, and she's determined to take on a traditional historical drama before it's too late, proving that even after two and a half decades, her hunger for new challenges hasn't faded one bit.
