The LG group Family Dispute has taken another turn as Seoul Family Court dismissed Kim Young Shik's lawsuit, seeking to dissolve her adoptive relationship with LG Chairman Ku Quang Mo. Kim, the widow of late LG Chairman Ku Bon Mu, filed the lawsuit based on claims of severely unfair treatment from her adoptive son, though the court did not provide detailed reasoning for the rejection. Following the ruling, Kim expressed her determination to continue pursuing separation, stating that she and Chairman Ku cannot maintain their mother-son relationship and will seek every possible avenue until the matter is resolved. This legal battle is intertwined with an ongoing inheritance dispute, where Kim and her two biological daughters are challenging the distribution of the late Chairman's estate, claiming they were unaware of debts tied to LG shares that were used as collateral for inheritance tax payments.

Hollywood actor Ansel El Gort sparked controversy by wearing a Japanese yukata to a Korean culture celebration event, disregarding both the dress code and the occasion's purpose. The CJ Night in Celebration of Freeze Soul, held at Liam Museum, was specifically designed to introduce global guests to Korean lifestyle, food, and art, with organizers clearly communicating a cocktail attire dress code requiring semi-formal wear, while other attendees, including actors Lee Byeung-hoon and Jiang Hyuk, wore suits appropriate to the occasion. Elgort appeared in traditional Japanese clothing, creating a stark contrast that many viewed as disrespectful to the event's Korean cultural focus. The incident has drawn criticism online, with observers noting the disconnect between the event's mission to showcase Korean culture and the actor's choice to wear attire from a different Asian culture entirely.

This achievement solidifies their position as the 21st century group with the most number one albums on the Billboard 200, with nine consecutive chart-topping releases.
