SPEAKER_01We're your hosts bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K drama world.
SPEAKER_00Today is August 9th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00Girl group Kiss of Life is celebrating their third anniversary with renewed confidence and ambitious goals for the future. The four-member group recently released their third single, Sweat, marking their return to the summer music scene after last year's hit Sticky. While Sticky captured bright, carefree beach vibes, Sweat takes a deeper approach, incorporating themes of hard work, perseverance, and self-belief into its Afro-House and Latin-influenced sound. The members revealed they want to perform at major outdoor festivals like Coachella, with member Julie emphasizing that outdoor stages bring out their best energy and connection with audiences. Looking back on their journey, the group credits their growth to constant practice and mutual support, with Member Bell noting how the team has evolved from simply projecting confidence to genuinely embodying it through their experiences.
SPEAKER_01Rising artist Evan has gifted fans with a special cover of Japanese singer-songwriter Yonezu Kenshi's Hiro to Ao, also known as Grey and Blue. The cover video filmed in Tokyo showcases Evan's delicate vocal control and explosive high notes as he interprets the nostalgic song about looking back on youth. The vintage-toned visuals perfectly complement the song's wistful atmosphere, with scenes of Evan walking through Tokyo streets enhancing the emotional depth of the performance. Evan is gearing up for an impressive schedule of international appearances, including the SBS Gaio Dejon Summer on August 9th, a special Grammy Museum Spotlight Program in Los Angeles on August 14th, and KCon LA 2026 on August 16th. He's also set to attend major awards ceremonies, including the Timer Awards on August 23rd and the Fact Music Awards in September.
SPEAKER_00Rookie Group. Kickflip has proven their festival prowess by successfully conquering both Seoul and Busan editions of Water Bomb 2026. The group performed at Waterbaum Busan on August 8th at Lotta World Adventure Busan, delivering dynamic energy through tracks like Gas on It, Jakija, and Singularity. Having debuted in January 2025, Kickflip has shown remarkable growth in a short time, achieving their highest first week sales record with their fourth mini album, My First Kick, and earning two music show wins in April. The seven-member group's ability to freely move around the stage while maintaining strong vocals and engaging with the crowd has established them as next generation festival powerhouses. Their successful completion of a 12-show fan concert tour across five Korean cities earlier this year demonstrated their rapidly growing fan base and performance capabilities.
SPEAKER_01Hive's upcoming girl group, Tuedi, has unveiled a preview of their debut through the performance video, Meet My GRLS Two Eyed. The video, released on Hybe Label's official YouTube channel on August 7th, features the pre-release track GRLS from their first mini-album, Tune and Play, set to drop on August 24th at 6 p.m. The seven members showcase their individual colours through solo and unit performances before coming together for a group stage that blends house, hip-hop, and soul choreography. The song GRLS carries a message about seven different members uniting as one team and moving forward with their unique bestitude attitude. The album title, tune, and play represents the group's concept of harmonizing different musical languages into one rhythm while finding joy in the process.
SPEAKER_00The SBS Gao de Jong. Summer brings together top K-pop acts for special performances and collaborations during the peak of the summer season. Ian's appearance at the event highlights Hearts to Hearts' continued presence in the competitive K-pop landscape.
