Blackpink's 10th anniversary celebration has become a source of controversy as fans expressed disappointment over what appears to be a hastily organized event. News sources report that the fan meeting location and time remained undecided until just one day before the anniversary date of August 8th, with only 40 fans selected to attend at the National Museum of Korea. The event was announced with just nine hours' notice for fan applications, and sources indicate the planning process was complicated by communication challenges between YG Entertainment and the members regarding various proposals. While YG had reportedly presented multiple anniversary concepts over time, the rushed nature of the final event has left fans frustrated, with many stating they wanted to see the group perform rather than just receive merchandise collaborations.

Girl group RTMS has returned after one year and two months with their boldest transformation yet in the album, Hyper Ego, featuring double title tracks that showcase dramatically different sides of the group. The members describe Born Stunner as their biggest challenge, incorporating intense rap sections despite having no dedicated rapper in the lineup, with members taking special lessons to master the demanding verses. The second title track, Blueblood, blends hyperpop and JCOR elements with summer vibes, creating what the group calls an accessible song perfect for commutes while maintaining their signature dreamy atmosphere. Member Hassoul participated in album planning and concept development, despite being unable to perform on stage due to shoulder surgery, with the group emphasizing this remains a five-member project.

17 members DK and Sung Quan are collaborating with esports team T1 on an official anthem titled One Spotify Singles, set for release August 10th as part of Spotify's exclusive singles programme. The modern pop punk track features powerful electric guitar, hyperactive drums and high-energy choruses with lyrics about unity and becoming each other's answer when facing limits and challenges. The collaboration was teased through a playful fake documentary showing T1 members as K-pop trainees with DK and Shungquan acting as their seniors who steal their song. The duo will perform at the LCK Team Roadshow, T1 Homeground event at KSPO Dome on August 14th, bridging the worlds of K-pop and esports fandoms. BTS continues to dominate New York City through BTS the City. The project centered around MetLife Stadium, where their concerts took place, extending to Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall with t-shirt customization stations and stage costume displays, Rockefeller Center's top-of-the-rock observation deck, decorated with their fifth album, A Ray Rang themes, and Times Square featuring large-scale performances with local dance crews. Netflix has cancelled plans for an American spin-off of Squid Game that was in development with acclaimed director David Fincher and Utopia writer Dennis Kelly. Industry reports indicate the project, codenamed Hecla, was intended to be a US set series that Netflix actively pursued for several years, but the priority gradually diminished during the lengthy development process. The momentum ultimately faded as Fincher moved on to other commitments, including the Netflix film The Adventures of Cliff Booth. Despite Squid Game being Netflix's most successful original series ever, with seasons 1, 2, and 3 occupying the top three spots in viewership history, the streaming platform has declined to comment on the spin-off's cancellation.
