Police in Seoul have applied for a third arrest warrant for Char Gar One, the CEO of 100 Label Entertainment Agency, who faces fraud allegations totaling approximately 30 billion one. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crimes Unit submitted the warrant application on charges of fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific EMIC Crimes. Cha is accused of receiving 24.2 billion one in advance payments from a company called NOMAS under the pretense of an intellectual property business involving his agency's artists, then failing to fulfill the contract obligations. Additionally, he allegedly received 5.4 billion one as a housing deposit from an acquaintance and failed to honor that agreement as well. Prosecutors previously returned two earlier warrant requests for supplementary investigation, while Cha has denied all allegations and claims the accusations are part of a hostile takeover attempt against 100 label.

The Korean entertainment industry is mourning the loss of 18-year-old Korean-American actress Kaylee Hartle, who died in a traffic accident in Maryland. According to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, Hartle was a passenger in a Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old when the vehicle veered off a two-lane road and crashed into a drainage structure, with speed suspected as the cause.

Following a four-month intensive investigation by the government's Joint Drug Investigation Task Force. Among those charged, a 40-something member of a hip-hop group who previously appeared on a music competition program was indicted under detention for cultivating three marijuana plants and possessing approximately 155.9 grams of marijuana at his residents from May of last year through May of this year. Three music producers in their forties were also indicted without detention for jointly cultivating marijuana since 2019 and possessing over 900 grams of the substance using specialized equipment including plant cultivation tents, LED lighting, and automatic watering systems in their homes. The investigation, which utilized customs clearance data from Seoul Customs, successfully identified cultivation timing and conducted raids before evidence could be destroyed, with six of the twelve individuals now facing trial under detention.

Singer Yang Yunjuhan's mother has been arrested and sent to prosecutors on fraud charges after allegedly swindling an acquaintance out of tens of millions of one. The Seoul Songpa Police Station announced they apprehended and indicted the woman under detention on charges of taking money under the guise of investment opportunities and then failing to return the promised returns. Big Bang is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a free fan event titled Big Bang 20th Anniversary X Han River Collaboration on August 19th at the Mulbit Stage in Yoiro Hangang Park. The event will serve as a preview to their world tour XX Cosmos, which kicks off August 21st through 23rd at Goyang Stadium in Gayonggi Province, featuring various visual and audio content that encapsulates the group's two-decade musical journey. Fans can expect DJ performances with remixed versions of Big Bang's signature songs, media art installations, and drone shows, all available completely free of charge. Kupang WoW members can reserve tickets on a first-come, first-served basis starting July 28th at 7 pm through the Coupang Play Mobile app, with a group set to continue their world tour in cities including Auckland, Paris, London, Taipei, Singapore, and Sydney.

Actor Wu Duan has renewed his contract with Blitzway Entertainment, continuing their partnership that began in 2023. The agency expressed their joy at continuing their journey together based on the trust built over the past years, promising full support to help Wu expand his presence on the global stage. The actor recently drove global viewership with the second season of Netflix's Bloodhounds earlier this year and received the Special Acting Award in the OTT category at the 46th Golden Cinematography Awards in June. Looking ahead, Wu will appear in Disney Plus's Made in Korea, season two, playing a decisive variable who disrupts the power struggle between Bek Ki Tai, portrayed by Hyun Bin and Jiang Gun Young, played by Jun Wu Sung.

Figure skating champion Cha June Huan is expanding his artistic repertoire beyond the ice rink with the musical ice show I Alone Level Up on Ice based on the massively popular web tune that has garnered 14.3 billion views. The production, which runs September 19th through 20th at Olympic Hall in Seouls Olympic Park, marks Cha's first domestic ice show return in approximately seven years, and his debut as a co-choreographer, requiring him to master not just skating, but also acting, singing, and creative choreography. Director Wu Jin Ha emphasized that this remount features more robust storytelling and dramatic elements compared to last year's premiere, with enhanced figure skating choreography and linear action sequences that are essential to following protagonist Sung Jin-woo's journey. The show features an all-star cast of current and former national figure skating team members, including Kim Ye Lim and Li Si Jung, with Cha taking on the lead role of Sung Jin-woo, who transforms from humanity's weakest E-rank hunter into the Shadow Monarch through 12 performances running through August 17th.

Idol member Shuhua's debut leading film role, Happy and Joyful Days, has been officially selected for the special presentation section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, one of North America's largest and most prestigious film festivals. Directed by Feng I Fiona Rong, the film tells the story of two sisters with completely different personalities, whose peaceful daily lives change after encountering a stray cat, with Shuhua playing the bright and innocent younger daughter Lin Jia Chi. The actress expressed disbelief and honor at having her first leading role reach the international stage, hoping audiences will find empathy and comfort through her character's story when the festival takes place September 10th through 20th. Meanwhile, Idle is preparing to perform at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois on August 1st.
