SPEAKER_00Today is July 8th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00New Jeans is facing serious legal trouble in the United States as their hit song ETA has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit. The American copyright management company, All Surface Publishing, filed the suit in California federal court, claiming the track illegally used elements from DJ Debonair Samir's 2005 song Samir's Theme. The lawsuit alleges that distinctive horn melodies with syncopation, 16th note rhythm structures, and biased drum patterns were copied without permission, targeting producer 250, lyricist Benzino, Hi B.E. Adore, production company Bana, and even Apple for their advertising collaboration. Adore responded by stating the track was sourced through Bana during Minhe Jin's tenure as CEO, and they are currently reviewing internal materials to determine whether proper similarity checks were conducted at the time. SPEAKER_01Actor Lee Sungi and actress Lee Dayan welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on July 7th, making them parents of two children. Both mother and baby are reported to be in healthy condition, with Lee Sungi staying by his wife's side throughout the delivery and recovery process. The couple married in April of 2023 and welcomed their first daughter in February 2024, now completing their family with one son and one daughter. This joyful news comes as Lee Sunghe prepares for his first solo concert in 13 years, scheduled for October 24th and 25th, at Blue Square in Seoul, though the happy occasion is shadowed by his ongoing legal dispute over a 105 billion one luxury villa lease contract.
SPEAKER_00Musical actress and singer Okeiu Hyun has broken her silence on the Okei Jangpan controversy, a scandal from four years ago that she says continues to haunt her despite fading from public memory. The controversy erupted in 2022 when fellow musical actor Kim Ho young posted cryptic messages on social media suggesting improper influence in the casting of the musical Elizabeth, leading to widespread speculation about Okju Hyun's involvement. Although Okju Hyun initially pursued legal action for defamation, she withdrew the complaint out of consideration for the musical industry, but the issue was never fully resolved. In her recent statement, she emphasized that time alone doesn't erase false narratives and expressed hope that she will no longer be consumed as a meme or joke, while Kim Ho-young, currently in the United States, has remained silent on the matter. So for event.
SPEAKER_01BTS continues to elevate Korean cultural heritage on the global stage through their collaboration with London's British Museum for the City London project, centered on their album A Ray Rang. The museum is hosting an interactive program called Korea Gallery Trail through July 23rd, which connects BTS's music with significant Korean artifacts, including the sarang bang symbolizing new beginnings, the moonjar representing universal love, intricate gold earrings showcasing craftsmanship, and roof tiles embodying cultural vitality. A special section inspired by track number 29 from A Ray Rang features Scylla Dynasty artifacts linked to the sound of the Emil Bell, creating a unique synergy between contemporary K-pop and ancient Korean treasures. This cultural initiative follows BTS's recent London concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 7th, with upcoming performances scheduled in Munich and Paris as part of their R.

The series follows a man with supernatural abilities and a palace made with secrets as they hunt down a curse threatening the royal bloodline, with Nam Ju Hyuk's character able to cross between the spirit world and reality, while Ro Yun-seo's character can hear ghostly voices. Director Choi Jung Yu emphasized the meticulous design of the dual worlds, filming the same locations in both winter and summer, and building duplicate sets to clearly differentiate between the spirit realm and reality. Nam Ju Hyuk, in his first project since military discharge, committed fully to the role by performing intense water scenes in freezing winter temperatures and delivering powerful action sequences, particularly a memorable fight scene against 13 Palace Maids.
SPEAKER_00Boy Group A Hope celebrated their first debut anniversary with a confident comeback, releasing their third mini-album, Run to You, that showcases both their signature refreshing sound and a more powerful, mature side. SPEAKER_01JTBC has resolved its payment crisis by completing overdue payments for appearance fees and production costs after receiving court approval last week. The broadcaster announced that dispatch fees, service fees, and various entertainment program appearance fees that were delayed due to court approval procedures have now been fully paid. JTBC fell into default on June 12th after failing to repay $206 billion in securitization loans, leading parent company Jungang Holdings, and several affiliates, including Megabox, to file for corporate rehabilitation. However, JTBC uniquely applied for the autonomous restructuring support program alongside rehabilitation proceedings, allowing the company to lead its own recovery efforts, which the court approved on June 30th.
