Go Group Recine member Wonnie has found herself at the center of a heated linguistic controversy after using the phrase museopno during a YouTube video. The GeoJ-born idol responded to a staff member's comment with the expression, which critics argue is an Ilba style phrase rooted in hate speech rather than authentic Gyeongsang dialect. Documentary filmmaker Kim Hyun ji pointed out that the usage doesn't align with proper Gyeongsang grammar, noting that while the phrase has roots in regional speech, its current popularization stems from online communities that mocked former President Ro Muhyun. Former Chou Guk Innovation Party leader Cho Guk weighed in on social media, explaining that authentic Busan dialect distinguishes between anana and no based on context, while Ilba users mechanically attach no to standard Korean sentences. The controversy highlights ongoing tensions in Korean entertainment as the industry grapples with identifying an addressing coded language that may normalize extremist online culture.

The film Marty Supreme, starring Timothy Chalamet, has emerged as a compelling character study that explores the psychology of relentless ambition through the story of a 1950s New York table tennis player. Director Josh Safty, working solo after parting ways with his brother Benny, following uncut gems, crafts a narrative about Marty Mauser, a man who refuses to stop chasing his dream of revolutionizing table tennis despite constant failure. Chalamet delivers a career-defining performance that earned him his 26th award, including the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a musical or comedy, channeling his own childhood experiences of not being believed into a character who conflates his dream with his very identity. The film loosely references real mid-20th century table tennis players, but avoids traditional biopic structure, instead examining the sensation of obsession and the American dream's simultaneous promise and cruelty. Supporting performances by Gwynneth Paltr and Odessa Azion add depth as women who refuse to be swept up in Marty's chaos, while the film's rhythmic pacing transforms the protagonist's downward spiral into something strangely energetic and compelling, leaving audiences with the paradoxical experience of rooting for someone racing in the wrong direction.
