SPEAKER_00Today is July 4th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you. Let's dive right in. The Kpop Group. 5050 is making waves today as they take the stage at the Freedom Festival at Camp Humphreys in Pyongta. This special performance marks America's 250th Independence Day celebration, bringing together US military personnel, their families, and local Korean residents for a unique cultural exchange. The group's participation holds extra significance since member Moon Chanel was born in the United States, making this 4th of July performance particularly meaningful for the team. Following this milestone event, 5050 will continue their momentum with their Asia fan concert tour, Still Low Bubble, scheduled for Seoul, back this August.
SPEAKER_02Girl group Mamu is proving their enduring popularity with sold-out shows in Kaohshung, Taiwan, for their World Tour Forward. Originally scheduled for just one performance, overwhelming demand led to a second show being added after more than 10,000 seats sold out immediately upon ticket release. The tour title cleverly combines the number four, representing the group's four members, Sola, Moonbuil, Huin, and Huasa, with the word forward to symbolize their continued journey together after 12 years. Following their Kaoshung performances today and tomorrow, Mammu will bring their world tour to Macau on July 18th and 19th, then Singapore on July 31st.
SPEAKER_00The co-ed group CAD is wrapping up their world tour Drift with a final performance in Tokyo today, marking the end of an impressive global journey. The tour has taken members BMJ Ceph, John Somin, and John Jiwoo through Seoul, Thailand, six cities across the Americas, Taipei, and an added stop in Jakarta due to popular demand. This tour represents nine years of musical evolution for CAD, showcasing their signature, powerful stage presence and unique team synergy that sets them apart in the industry. The group is already looking ahead to their next milestone with their first full-length album, Where to Now. Part 2, Nowhere. Set for release on July 28th.
SPEAKER_02Rising Boy group A Hope is expanding their Asian tour footprint, with a performance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today at Geospace. This marks the fourth city on their first ever Asia tour, The First Spark, following successful shows in Seoul, Osaka, and Tokyo back in May. Fans attending tonight's concert will get a special preview of tracks from the group's upcoming third mini album, Run to You, including the pre-released single Sugar High and the unreleased track Our Story. The nine-member group consisting of Steven, Su Jongwu, Chao Woon Ki, Zhang Shuibo, Park Han, JL, Park Ju Won, Xin, and Daisuke will officially release their new album on July 8th.

SPEAKER_02This unprecedented collaboration between three girl groups has been praised for creating a new model of teamwork in the K-pop industry, combining distinct personalities and solid skills into one powerful track. The song's Addictive Hook and Satisfying Choreography have sparked viral challenge videos across social media, with participation from major artists including BTS member Jungkook, Tomorrow Buy Together, N Hyphen, TWS, and Courtney.
SPEAKER_00South Korea's entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran voice actress Kang Hee-soon, who passed away early this morning, at age 65 after battling colon cancer. Kang was beloved nationwide as the voice of Bong Mission, the mother character in the long-running anime series Crayon Shin Chan, and was also the familiar voice of Seoul's subway announcement system. Throughout her illustrious career, that began in 1979, she voiced countless Hollywood stars including Sharon Stone in the Basic Instinct series, Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Despite undergoing dozens of chemotherapy treatments after her cancer spread to her liver, she continued recording work until her final days, demonstrating her unwavering passion for her craft.
SPEAKER_02The new SBS drama Kim Boojang is dominating Friday-Saturday viewership with record-breaking ratings just three episodes in. The show starring Soji Sub achieved an impressive 19.6% rating in the Seoul metropolitan area and 18.8% nationwide, with peak moments reaching 23%. This performance places Kim Bujon as the sixth highest-rated drama in SPS Friday Saturday history, surpassing hits like Stove Leak and trailing only behind Penthouse 2, The Fiery Priest, Taxi Driver 2, Penthouse 3, and Stove League. Tonight's fourth episode promises intense action as Kim Bujong and his friends Song Han Su and Park Jin Chill unite for the first time in a desperate chase to rescue his missing daughter, Minji.
SPEAKER_00Director Na Hongjin's highly anticipated film, Hope, has claimed the number one spot in advance ticket sales 11 days before its July 15th release. The movie marks Na's return after a 10-year hiatus and features an all-star cast, including Huang Jungmin, Joan Sung, and Zheng Ho-yon, alongside Hollywood actors Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikanda, Taylor Russell, and Cameron Britton. Hope made waves earlier this year when it was invited to compete at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, receiving enthusiastic responses from international critics and media for its intense cinematic experience. The film has already been pre-sold to over 200 countries and territories at record prices for a Korean film, with major global distributors including Neon, Focus Features, UPI France, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, and Gaga securing distribution rights.
