The legendary band Sanulim's experimental masterpiece, You Are Already Me has been reborn through a collaboration with band Kateho, marking the 35th single in Sanulim's 50th anniversary project. Originally released in 1978 as Sanulim's longest track at 18 minutes and 38 seconds, the song was known for its avant-garde structure and dreamlike atmosphere. Kadeho compressed the epic composition to just 5 minutes and 10 seconds while preserving the original's experimental spirit and free-flowing musical sensibility. Music critic Lim Hee-yoon praised the remake, describing Sanulim's music as an irregular 17-sided polyhedron that reveals different facets depending on the viewer's perspective, and noting how Kateho successfully condensed the sprawling dreamscape into a modern interpretation featuring elements of vaporwave and avant-pop.

Boy Group Cortes continues their remarkable chart dominance, achieving the highest ranking for any K-pop boy group this year on Mellon's June monthly chart at number two. The group's title track, Red Red, climb one spot from May's third place position, marking the first time a boy group has reached the top two, on this chart in two years and three months since March 2024. This achievement is particularly significant, as monthly charts exclude duplicate users and serve as a key indicator of mainstream public recognition, with only five boy groups reaching second place or higher in the past decade. The song maintained its position in the top three for 43 consecutive days through June 30th, while simultaneously holding strong on Billboard's Global 200 at number 65 and Global Excluding US at number 35 for nine consecutive weeks.

Cordis is cementing their status as a global powerhouse with their mini album Green Green, maintaining its position on Billboard's main album chart, the Billboard 200, at number 94 for seven consecutive weeks. This marks the longest charting period for a single album by any K-pop boy group that debuted within the past five years, with the group continuously breaking their own records. The album simultaneously claimed first place on the World Albums chart, while their first mini album, Color Outside the Lines, secured second place, demonstrating the group's sustained popularity across multiple releases. Looking ahead, Cortes will embark on their first solo tour, Put Your Phone Down, from July through September, covering Korea, North America, and Japan, and will perform at major international music festivals, including Lollapalooza Chicago in late July, Rock in Japan Festival in September, and Formula One Singapore Grand Prix in October.

Newgene's members Hairin and Hain have been spotted filming content in the United States, sparking speculation about an imminent comeback for the group. A video shared by an online community member showed the two members smiling and conversing under bright sunlight with camera crew nearby, suggesting they were shooting official content. This follows previous sightings of Hairin, Hain, and Hani in Denmark back in April, which had already fuelled comeback rumours among fans. The group's future lineup remains uncertain as Herin, Hein, and Hani have confirmed their return to Adore while Minji is still negotiating specific terms for her comeback, and Danielle's status remains unresolved after Adore terminated her contract and filed a 43.1 billion one lawsuit against her, her family member, and Minhe Jin.

The popular YouTube baseball series Fire Baseball has cancelled its scheduled broadcast featuring Beijing High School following a serious regional discrimination controversy that erupted during the 81st Chiongryong National High School Baseball Championship. Production company Studio C1 announced they will not air the episode, filmed with Baijai High School players, which was scheduled for July 6th, after carefully reviewing the gravity of the situation. The controversy began when Baiji High School players were caught on live SBS Plus broadcast repeatedly chanting mocking slogans toward a Guangju Jiel high school pitcher. Using phrases reminiscent of the controversial Starbucks May 18th tank day incident, the Korean Baseball Softball Association has referred Bay J High School to the Sports Fair Play Committee for disciplinary discussions, while the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education condemned the actions as unacceptable mockery of historical pain and regional discrimination in student sports.

Veteran singer Kim Gunmo has returned to music after a decade-long hiatus with his new single Where Are You Going, released across various music platforms at 6 p.m. on July 1st. The song is a remake of singer Jin Young's 1977 debut album title track, marking Kim Gun Mo's first new release since his 25th anniversary album, 50, in 2016. For this comeback, Kim Gun Mo made a significant artistic departure by playing acoustic guitar for the first time in his musical career instead of his signature piano accompaniment. The singer expressed hope that this new approach would introduce audiences to a new Kim Gun Mo following his return to the stage last year with a nationwide concert tour from September through March that marked his comeback after a six-year performance hiatus.

Actor Nam Gung Min returns to the small screen with the intense crime thriller The Completion of Marriage, premiering July 4th on KBS2 TV at 9.20 p.m. The drama follows a renowned spinal surgeon whose already fractured marriage takes a dramatic turn when his wife is suddenly kidnapped, forcing him to embark on a desperate chase to save her. Nam Gung Min emphasized the show's accessibility and thriller elements as key factors in choosing the project, noting that viewers can easily follow the story without intense concentration, and he focused on realistic action befitting a Doctor character rather than his previous polished fight sequences. The actor reunites with co-star Lee Sial from our movie, though this time they portray an estranged married couple rather than former lovers, with both actors working closely together, including script readings at Nam Gung Min's office on days off to build their on-screen chemistry.
