Hyde Music Group labels dominated Japan's Oricon mid-year rankings for 2026, with BTS claiming a historic double crown. BTS's fifth full album, Are Rang, topped both the combined album ranking and the album sales ranking, becoming the first overseas artist ever to reach number one on the combined chart with over 800,000 points. The achievement marks an impressive showing for Hybe's multi-label system, with N Hypen's The Sin Vanish at number four, Amperson team's We On Fire at number three, Tomorrow Buy Together's seventh year album at number nine, and TWS's No Tragedy, rounding out the top ten. Notably, aside from Hybe artists, the remaining top ten positions were entirely occupied by Japanese acts, highlighting the Korean company's exceptional, competitive edge in a market typically dominated by local talent.

Actress Kim Minha leads the Korean-Danish co-production Hana Korea, a sensitive drama exploring the journey of a North Korean defector woman named He-sun, navigating freedom and isolation in South Korean society. Danish director Frederick Schulberg collaborated with screenwriter Sharon Choi, known for her work as the parasite Oscar interpreter, to craft a story that balances an outsider's fresh perspective with deep cultural understanding. The film deliberately avoids spectacle, instead, focusing on emotional resonance through silence and subtle expressions, with Kim Minha meticulously charting her character's transformation through minimal dialogue. The production benefited from a week-long workshop in Denmark before filming, where the cast and crew built trust and understanding that transcended language barriers. Hanna Correa opens in theaters on July 8th with a runtime of 105 minutes.
