SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00The 35th Soul Music Awards brought together some of K-pop's biggest names at Inchon's Inspire Arena, with several artists taking home prestigious honors. Dragon Pony claimed the Band Award, expressing gratitude and promising to continue making music with humility while supporting all young people navigating their daily struggles. Han Rora received the Rock and Ballad Award after delivering an energetic opening performance, vowing to continue spreading their gentle rock spirit. Li Chan Won earned the Trott Award in his first ever Soul Music Awards appearance, dedicating the honor to his devoted fanbase known as Chance, and promising to work even harder to show them better performances. Zero Bass? One member Sung Han Bin took home the OST Award for his contribution to the drama Spring Fever, crediting his fans for giving him confidence in his voice, while Boy Next Door secured the RB Hip Hop Award and teased their upcoming world tour.
SPEAKER_01Virtual Idol Group Plav is making history by becoming the first virtual artist group to hold a solo concert at a stadium-level venue in South Korea. The group will perform at Incheon Munhawk Stadium's main arena on September 12th and 13th, marking a significant milestone for virtual artists moving beyond online and subculture markets into mainstream large-scale performance venues. This follows their previous success at Gochok Skydome, demonstrating their ability to draw crowds comparable to traditional idol groups, with the group having already achieved million seller status and topped music charts. Industry observers are particularly interested in how the technical aspects will be executed in an outdoor stadium environment, where variables like lighting, wind, weather, and sightlines present more challenges than indoor venues. The concept represents a potential shift in K-pop's business model, proving that virtual artists can compete in the same market as physical idols through character-driven storytelling, world building, and fan engagement, rather than relying solely on traditional promotional activities.
SPEAKER_00The collaborative track Amakaik, iconic by mistake by Lei Seraphim, Eyelit, and Katsiye, is making waves on international charts, demonstrating the growing global influence of these groups. The digital single reached number 22 on the UK official singles chart, an impressive achievement for a release without a physical album format. On Spotify, the track climbed to number 25 on the weekly Top Songs Global Chart, and number 26 on the weekly Top Songs US chart for the period of June 12th through 18th. The collaboration has significantly boosted each group's individual artist rankings as well, with Cat's Eye jumping 49 spots to number 63 on Spotify's Weekly Top Artist's Global Chart, Lay Seraphim re-entering at number 110, and Eyelit charting for the first time at number 121.
SPEAKER_01Tomorrow. The schedule was presented in a witty format, resembling a product ingredient label, listing all promotional content from the tracklist through the music video release. Fans can expect the tracklist on June 22nd, followed by visual content from June 24th through 28th, an album preview on July 4th, and a music video teaser on July 8th. A special release party will take place on July 9th at 8 pm, one day before the album drops, where Yonjoon will perform the new songs for the first time. The album, set for release on July 10th at 1 pm, continues the no-label series that began last November, showcasing Yonjoon's evolving artistic identity with the title track Ice Cream.
SPEAKER_00This haunting anthem explores life's endless cycles through black and white visuals and symbolic imagery, with a music video exclusively released on Spotify. Here's a preview.
SPEAKER_01RM expressed his excitement about the role, stating he looks forward to sharing the beauty and value of Korean cultural heritage with more people around the world. The rapper has consistently demonstrated his commitment to traditional Korean culture, having previously donated 200 million won for the preservation of overseas Korean cultural properties, which was used for conservation work on Joseon era wedding garments. He has also supported the production of catalogues introducing Korean paintings and will host a special exhibition of his art collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in October. While BTS is scheduled to perform at the North America World Cup final halftime show in New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19th.
SPEAKER_00The 2026 World DJ Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary with a spectacular two-day event at Seoul Land in Guacheon, Gyeonggi Province, on June 13th and 14th. Global EDM superstars Zed and Marshmallow headlined their respective nights, with Zed wearing a Korean flag t-shirt and surprising fans with a remix of Esper's Lemonade. While Esper sent a video message from Mexico where they're currently supporting the North America World Cup. The festival featured an impressive lineup including Armin Van Boeren, Eric Prids, I Hate Models, and Loud Luxury. With the latter set including a surprise appearance by Rain that quickly went viral on social media. The event showcased the festival's signature combination of music, special effects, and fireworks, demonstrating how EDM has evolved from a niche genre to a major pillar of Korea's festival industry over the past two decades. BPC Tangent CEO Kim Unsung emphasized that the festival has grown alongside Korea's EDEM culture, and will continue to establish itself as a leading global EDM festival brand.
SPEAKER_01Singer Roy Kim engaged in playful banter with fans on social media after sharing candid photos that sparked humorous reactions about his appearance. In his post, Roy Kim reflected on his busy spring and shared thoughtful musings about living without regrets, emphasizing that happiness, faith, love, joy, and gratitude are his top priorities as he thinks about his 70-year-old self looking back. The photos showed him in casual grey sleeveless shirts and shorts, displaying his broad shoulders and muscular arms while holding a baby. Though fans couldn't help but comment on his unshaven legs. When one fan joked, What's with the chest? What is that? Roy Kim cheekily replied, It's chest, what else? And when another wrote, Wow, really handsome, except for the leg hair, he responded, It's the air conditioner season, I'm cold, demonstrating his good natured sense of humor. Roy Kim is preparing for his fan meeting concert, The Roy Kim Show, speaking, listening, singing at Blue Square, Wori, one banking hall on July 11th and 12th.
SPEAKER_00Set to Barbara Lewis's song Baby I'm Yours, with the same phrase as the caption. The announcement comes during an exceptionally busy period for Hathaway, who has five films either recently released or upcoming this year, including The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Mother Mary, along with promotional schedules for these projects. She recently completed promotional activities and will appear in additional films including Odyssey and She Came to Me. Hathaway married actor and jewellery designer Adam Shulman in 2012, and the couple already has two sons, Jonathan, who is 10 years old, and Jack, who is six.
