SPEAKER_01We're your hosts bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_00Today is June 6th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00BTS continues to dominate global music charts with their fifth studio album, Ah Rai Ra Hang, achieving yet another milestone on Spotify. The group has now claimed the most number one positions on the platform's weekly top album Global Chart for 2026, marking their eighth time reaching the summit and surpassing previous records held by pop star Bad Bunny. The title track Swim has maintained its position at number four on the weekly top song Global Chart, with all 12 album tracks charting consecutively for 11 weeks. American music publication Consequence recently named both Swim and Hooligan among the best songs of 2026's first half, praising BTS for their ability to showcase versatility across genres and deliver complex rap verses over rough hip-hop beats.
SPEAKER_01The chart's top 20 positions featured six K-pop-related acts, demonstrating the genre's powerful presence in the Japanese market. Hype's Japanese boy group and team secured second place with their third mini album, We On Fire, while N Hypen's The Sin Vanish claimed fourth, Tomorrow Buy Together's seventh mini album landed at seventh, and TWS's No Tragedy reached 10th place. YG Entertainment's Treasure also made the list at 13th with Love Pulse, showcasing how K-pop consumption in Japan has expanded across multiple generations and isn't limited to specific groups.
SPEAKER_00Their performance highlighted the group's growth from extensive touring, as members delivered stable live vocals and precise rapping, despite the intense choreography, with the climactic jump jump section becoming a standout moment. The album has already shown strong commercial performance, surpassing one million pre-orders and selling nearly 600,000 copies on its first day, while the title track topped iTunes charts in multiple regions, including Japan's AWA and Rakuten Music.
SPEAKER_01Singer and actor Lee Soon Gi expressed his devotion to his wife, Lee Da In, during an appearance on KBS's Immortal Songs, revealing he may miss the show's King of Kings competition due to his wife's upcoming childbirth in July. After winning the first part of composer Kim Dohun's special episode, Li Sung ji admitted feeling more nervous than usual performing in front of the original artists, even experiencing trembling hands. When MC Li Chan Wan mentioned the King of Kings competition would also take place in July, Lee Suang Gi joked he might not be able to attend, firmly stating he couldn't leave his wife after giving birth. The couple, who married and already have one daughter, are currently expecting their second child.
SPEAKER_00Singer Lim Chang Jung announced a dramatic physical transformation ahead of his 2026 national tour concert, promising to achieve idle-level visuals for his fans. Posting on social media, the veteran entertainer revealed he's already lost three kilograms and confidently predicted he'll appear with a completely transformed face by the July 4th Psyongnam concert date, humorously declaring he'll compete with looks this time. Fans responded enthusiastically to his Mirror Selfie video, with comments praising his already sharp jawline and expressing excitement for the upcoming show. The national tour, titled Singing Our Time Again, will kick off at Psyongnam Arts Center Opera House and feature special audience participation events, including the Changjong Roulette and a regional Singing King competition called Changjong King.
SPEAKER_01Le Seraphim is experiencing a remarkable chart resurgence with their title track Boom Pala from their second full-length album, Pure Flow Part 1, climbing the UK official charts through word-of-mouth popularity. The song jumped 50 positions on the official singles sales chart to reach 22nd place and leaped 53 spots on the official singles download chart to land at 17th, both tracking sales from June 5th to 11th. The track has also maintained presence on Spotify's weekly top songs chart for two consecutive weeks across seven countries, including Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. While staying on the worldwide iTunes song chart for 15 consecutive days since its May 22nd release, the group has released multiple remix versions including Speed Up, Karaoke, a champion version targeting soccer season, and a Santos Bravos featuring version to appeal to diverse global listeners.
SPEAKER_00Boy Nextdoor is shedding their friendly Boy Nextdoor image for a more intense concept with their first full-length album, Home, as revealed in the music video teaser for title track Viral. The teaser showcased dramatic visuals with member Ri Wu standing out in thick smoke and Woonhack performing dynamic wire action stunts, while the preview featured addictive lyrics like You're my nicotine, caffeine baby, set to passionate melodies. The performance drew attention for its nostalgic throwback to classic K-pop, with precise group choreography and energetic beats. All six members participated in the album's credits, with Myung Jia hyun and Wun Hawk contributing to the title track composition, and the album includes deeply personal tracks like 06070 reflecting on their trainee days, Remember Me, dedicated to their parents, and fan song I Wonder.
SPEAKER_01The hit teething original series, Dear X, is making its broadcast television debut on TVN as the new Friday-Saturday drama, bringing Kim Yu-Jung's acclaimed performance to a wider audience. The destructive melodrama suspense series, which follows Baik Arjin's Ruthless Climb to the Top and Those She Tramples along the way, already proved its success on streaming platforms after its November release. The show achieved six consecutive weeks as the top contributor to new paid subscriptions among T-Ving originals and ranked first in both viewing time and completion rate among all T-Ving Original series. Internationally, Deer X dominated 108 countries on Rakuten Vicky, secured second place on Middle Eastern platform Starsplay, and topped Disney Plus in Japan, demonstrating Kim Yoojung's global appeal.
SPEAKER_00Actor Park Ji-hoon reflected on his breakthrough year in a recent interview, emphasizing that despite becoming a 10 million ticket actor with The Man Who Lives With the King and winning the Beksang New Actor Award, his mindset remains unchanged. The former 101 member, who recently captivated audiences with his comedic performance in T. Ving's The Legend of the Mithidary Mess Hulcook, explained his acting approach involves slowly absorbing characters like a blank slate rather than formal training methods. He meticulously studies scripts to create detailed character imagery, from eye expressions to habitual behaviors, then relies heavily on onset chemistry with fellow actors to bring performances to life. Looking ahead to his mandatory military service next year, the self-described military enthusiast expressed excitement rather than anxiety, revealing his dream of joining the Marine Reconnaissance Unit and overcoming his fear of deep water through training.
