SPEAKER_00Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_01The band Lucy Made History this weekend with their ninth solo concert Island at the KSPO Dome, marking their first performance at the prestigious venue after selling out all eight previous concerts. Over two days on May 16th and 17th, the four-member band captivated more than 20,000 fans with an impressive three-hour set list featuring 27 songs performed entirely live. The concert was particularly meaningful as it marked the return of drummer Xing Guang Yu after completing his military service, reuniting the complete lineup for the first time in approximately one year and eight months. The show highlighted Lucy's unique blend of violin, bass, drums, and guitar, with standout moments including Xin Yechan's dramatic masked violin performance during Dokaibi Cham and the band's seamless transitions between classical arrangements and rock festival energy that demonstrated why they're considered one of Korea's leading contemporary bands.
SPEAKER_00At the third annual Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2026 held at Saitama's Baluna Dome, on May 17th, several Korean entertainment stars took home major honors. Actresses Lim Yunar and Lee Chi Minh won the Fan Choice Couple Award for their chemistry in the drama The Tyrant's Chef, with Lee Chemin graciously crediting his co-star during his acceptance speech, saying the award was thanks to Yunar's senior guidance in creating their character's memorable on-screen relationship. Stray Kids claimed the best group male category, cementing their status as global top artists, after achieving seven and eight consecutive number one debuts on the Billboard 200 chart with their albums Karma and Do It last year. Additionally, Zero Base One member Suang Han Bin received the best OST Award for his song Spring Like You from the drama Spring Fever, which beautifully captured the romantic moments between the lead characters played by Ann Bo Hun and Lee Jubin.
SPEAKER_01The production team behind NBC's Friday Saturday drama, 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife, issued a formal apology on May 16th regarding historical accuracy controversies that emerged from the show's 11th episode. Viewers criticized the drama for depicting the king's coronation ceremony with a nine-row crown and having court officials shout Cheonse, both of which are expressions associated with vassal states rather than sovereign kingdoms, potentially undermining Korea's historical independence. The production team acknowledged that while the series is a romance and alternate history drama, they failed to exercise sufficient care and depth in establishing the show's world building, admitting their research efforts were inadequate. They announced plans to modify the problematic audio and subtitles in reruns, video on demand services, and streaming platforms, and promised to approach future content with greater sensitivity and thoroughness.

The track, originally a B-side from his fifth mini album Us, released in April 2023, achieved the rare feat of winning on music show SBS Inkagayo, despite Woo being on military hiatus at the time. The live performance video from Immortal Songs has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube, while the original 2023 live video continues to rank in YouTube Korea's top 100 popular music videos, maintaining its chart presence for 81 consecutive weeks and solidifying Drowning as a true national anthem.
