SPEAKER_01We're your hosts, bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_02Today is May 15th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_02Group Next Z is celebrating their second debut anniversary with a unique twist on fan culture. From May 15th through the 21st, they're operating a mini pop-up store in Seoul's Gangdong district that transforms the familiar birthday cafe concept into an official celebration space. Fans visiting the cafe can receive handwritten job applications from members, enjoy specially curated drink and cookie combos called birthday combos, featuring each member's favourite beverages, and participate in stamp missions for a chance to win autographed merchandise and Polaroids. The pop-up also features customizable nexus character activities and seven types of official anniversary merchandise, marking a creative evolution in how K-pop groups engage with their fandoms.
SPEAKER_01Quarters has achieved their first ever Music Bank number one trophy with their latest single Red Red, defeating Eyelids It's Me on the May 15th broadcast. The group expressed surprise and gratitude during their acceptance speech, thanking fans for their unwavering support. Red Red, the title track from their second mini album, Green Green, continues to break records for the group, maintaining its position on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global Chart for 20 consecutive days at number 71. The track has also dominated domestic charts, reaching number three on Maylin and number one on Bugs, establishing Quarters as the first K-pop boy group debuting within the last five years to achieve such sustained global chart performance.
SPEAKER_02The highly anticipated reunion of IOI has sparked mixed reactions following the release of their comeback title track, Suddenly. Ahead of their 10th anniversary mini album Loop Dropping on May 19th, the group launched a challenge featuring the new song, but fan response has been notably critical. Many listeners expressed disappointment with the musical direction, with some comparing it unfavorably to trop music and questioning why the production team didn't choose a more upbeat track similar to their hit Very, Very, Very. The song was composed by VVN from the Black Label, known for creating city pop style tracks for artists like Jesus, Flower, and Hayes' Bing Bing, though this particular release has drawn criticism toward both the song selection and the composer. The nine-member reunion proceeds without original members, Kang Mina and Ju Kyukyung, who declined to participate in the project.
SPEAKER_01Singer Suung Si Kyu Hung's sister and their family entertainment company SKJ Won have received suspended prosecution for operating an unregistered entertainment agency. SKJ1, a one-person agency where Sung Si Kyu Hung's sister serves as CEO, was reported to police in September of last year for operating without proper registration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The company explained they were unaware of the registration requirement that came into effect in 2014, three years after they established the corporation in 2011, while police found insufficient evidence of Sung-xi Kyuhung's direct involvement in company operations.
SPEAKER_02This hip hop and trap banger showcases bold irregular rhythms and lyrics that celebrate their growth and transformation into a new era. Let's take a listen.
SPEAKER_01The series recorded the highest viewership among Korean series on the platform for 28 days following its release, accumulating 43 million hours of total viewing time globally. Episode 8 showed a 43% increase in viewership compared to the premiere, with the show claiming number one positions in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Brazil. Disney Plus representatives highlighted the drama's exceptional global expansion, calling it the most internationally successful Korean content released on their platform and praising it for opening new horizons for K content. The romantic drama, set in a 21st century constitutional monarchy version of South Korea, has only two episodes remaining before its finale.
SPEAKER_0217's Unit DK and Tsun Quan have expanded their first live tour with three additional performances in the Greater China region due to overwhelming demand. The duo's DK Times Tsung Quan Serenade on Stage concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, originally scheduled for a single show on July 25th, will now include performances on July 24th and 26th after tickets sold out rapidly. This follows a similar expansion in Macau, where a second show was added on June 7th after the June 6th concert sold out immediately. The tour has consistently achieved sold-out status across all venues, including shows at Inchon Inspire Arena, Chiba Makahari Mese, and Daegu Exco, with Japanese media outlets, Nikon Sports and Daily Sports praising the duo's exceptional vocal abilities and stage presence. The unit will also perform at the 18th Soul Jazz Festival on May 22nd before continuing their tour.
SPEAKER_01BTS is launching an unprecedented citywide takeover of Las Vegas as part of their Global The City 2.0 expansion project. From May 22nd through 28th, the group will transform the city with their A Re-Rang Red Illumination Campaign, bathing landmarks in the signature red color from their new album. The world's largest spherical venue, the Sphere, will display BTS themed digital content across its entire exterior, while the Las Vegas strip will feature welcome messages and outdoor advertising takeovers from 11 p.m. to midnight on concert days. Major attractions including the High Roller Observation Wheel, the Eiffel Tower replica, and prominent hotels will illuminate in red during specific times on May 23rd, 24th, 27th, and 28th. The project also includes welcome parties at Tailgate Beach Club, collaborative food and beverage experiences, and culinary tours representing the largest scale urban partnership campaign in BTS history ahead of their FIFA World Cup halftime show performance on July 19th.
SPEAKER_02Latin American boy group Santos Bravos made history at the Spotify Podcast Awards in Mexico City on May 14th, winning the breakthrough podcast category. Their podcast, Santos Bravos the Series, which chronicles everything from the group's formation to behind-the-scenes moments and in-depth interviews, earned the trophy through fan voting after being selected based on Spotify data and cultural impact. The group expressed gratitude to their fans during the emotional acceptance speech, acknowledging that the achievement would have been impossible without their support. Beyond the award, Santos Bravos also performed as featured artists at the ceremony, delivering live renditions of four songs including Kawasaki, Wow, MHM, and Velocidade, further expanding their presence as Hybes multi-home, multi-genre strategy group that recently visited Korea to broaden their activities.
SPEAKER_01Lucy has demonstrated consistent growth throughout their career, selling out all eight previous solo concerts while progressively expanding venue sizes from Blue Square Masticot Hole to Jiangchung Gymnasium and finally KSPO Dome.
