SPEAKER_00Today is April 30th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you. Let's dive right in. Hybe's family of artists dominated the April 30th broadcast of Manette's M Countdown, with six out of 20 performing groups coming from the company's various labels. La Seraphim, Amperson Team, TWS, Eyelit, Cat's Eye, and Cortis all appeared on the same show, leading fans to joke that it felt more like a Hybe family concert than a regular music program. Industry insiders note this wasn't a coordinated strategy, but rather the natural result of multiple comeback schedules aligning during the traditionally busy April and May period. The simultaneous promotions reflect Hybe's multi-label structure, where independent teams operate on their own timelines, creating moments of concentrated visibility that boost the company's overall market presence as they work to strengthen second quarter performance.
SPEAKER_01JYP Entertainment six-member band X-Dinary Heroes returned with their eighth mini album, Dead End, on April 30th, showcasing an impressive range across seven self-composed tracks. The title song, Voyager, draws inspiration from the Voyager 1 space probe that has been traveling through space since 1977, using it as a metaphor for pushing forward even after reaching the point of no return. Member Gunil explained that the album explores the concept of farewell as a keyword, with the group deliberately crafting songs suitable for festival stages while maintaining their signature diversity across metal, punk rock, and British rock genres. The band has been building momentum through successful world tours and notable festival appearances, including their debut at Lollapalooza Chicago and opening for legendary rock band Muse, experiences that now inform their approach to creating music that works both as recordings and powerful live performances.
SPEAKER_00Eilit made their highly anticipated comeback on April 30th with their fourth mini album, Mami Lapinata Pai, a unique title derived from the Yargan language, meaning the moment when two people want something, but neither makes the first move. The title track, It's Me takes a bold new direction with an addictive techno sound, as the members confidently declare themselves as everyone's favorite, with the direct message, Your number one is me. Member Mocha compared the song to Spicy Hot Pot, describing it as something you can't stop once you start, and while the group emphasized the challenging choreography features, their signature magical girl hand movements combined with rhythmic steps. The album's pre-release buzz was strong enough to land it at number six on Spotify's global countdown chart, and the group will celebrate the release with a special festival at Seoul Children's Grand Park on May 5th.
SPEAKER_01Singer Jay Ha, the 32-year-old son of hitmaker Imjuri, known for lipstick thickly applied, has signed with MKS Entertainment alongside artists Bayul Sarang and Lee Dojin. The agency expressed excitement about welcoming the versatile artist who possesses strong vocal abilities, wide genre adaptability, impressive language skills, and instrumental talent built since his debut in October 2018 with the single Samba Party. Je-Ha gained significant recognition by finishing second on KBS2's Trot Audition Program, Trot National Sports Festival, in 2021, and has since released multiple tracks including Spark, Shine Please, and Mom Is Okay. With systematic management support from his new agency, Jeyha plans to expand his activities across various fields beyond album releases, building on his musical DNA and steady growth trajectory.
SPEAKER_00Our featured song today is Crescendo by Enermix, a stunning B-side track from their upcoming mini album, Heavy Serenade. This romantic song, co-written by member Lily, beautifully captures the feeling of growing emotions through soft melodies layered with powerful synths and dramatic harmonies. Here's a preview. Now back to more news.
SPEAKER_01Super Junior's Kim Heatchel will temporarily step away from JTBC's Knowing Briars for health reasons, though the network emphasized this is not a permanent departure from the show. A network representative confirmed that Heatchel will take a rest period of undetermined length and is expected to rejoin the program later, with his last episode before the break scheduled to air on May 9th. Comedian Kim Sheen Young will fill the temporary vacancy, having already participated in recent recordings where she impressed with her energetic presence and natural chemistry with existing cast members. Heatchel has been an original member of the Popular Talk Show since its launch in 2015, making this his first extended absence from the program.
SPEAKER_00The 8 continues his prolific solo output with the upcoming release of his self-composed track, Love is Gone, on May 1st at 1 a.m., marking his second solo release in a month. The song blends the poignant emotions of separation with the exaggerated textures of hyperpop, with the eight handling both lyrics and composition to express the internal fractures and lingering traces left after parting with a loved one. His raw vocal delivery amplifies the sense of loneliness in this departure from his previous solo work, demonstrating an expanded creative spectrum. Earlier in April, he released April Draft, another self-composed piece that compared the process of love and separation to the changing seasons, and he's scheduled to headline the Meadow Music Festival in Nanjing, China, on May 1st and 2nd.
SPEAKER_01Kat's Eye proved their competitive edge in the overseas music market by landing at number 14 on the CIM's record store Day 2026 Top 100 chart for sales between April 18th and 23rd. Their limited edition album featuring tour and a cappella versions of hit songs Touch and Gabriella outsold releases from major pop stars including Selena Gomez, Charlie XCX, and Madonna, closely training Ariana Grandi. The group's ranking climbed even higher to number 11 on the weekly CIM's chart ending April 23rd, demonstrating strong demand during Record Store Day, an annual vinyl celebration started in 2008 that draws music enthusiasts seeking exclusive artist releases. Hype's multi-home, multi-genre girl group recently released their single Pinky Up and performed the new track on M Countdown on April 30th following their successful Grammy Award nominations.
SPEAKER_00Director Na Hong Jin unveiled the first still images from his highly anticipated film Hope on April 30th, offering a glimpse into the intense suspense awaiting audiences. The six released stills showcase the film's atmospheric mise en scène, including shots of character Bayong Selk played by Huang Jongmin captured through a foggy window, Song Yi portrayed by Zhou Ensung aiming a gun in a deep forest, and Song Ai played by Juung Ho-yon holding a weapon in a destroyed village. The thriller follows an outpost chief in the demilitarized zone village of Hopo Port, who receives reports of a tiger appearance from local youth, leading residents to confront an unbelievable reality. After being invited to compete at the 79th Cannes Film Festival and securing North American distribution with NEON, Hope will have its world premiere at Cannes in May before meeting Korean audiences in theaters this summer.

In a Director Fans video posted on the company blog titled YG Announcement, Young shared details about the upcoming group while promising to gradually reveal more information about the new artists. The company is also actively working on a girl group debut project, continuing YG's tradition of carefully curated artist development. This announcement comes as YG works to expand its artist roster following the successful launch of Girl Group Baby Monster in January 2024.
