SPEAKER_02Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00Boy Band BTS continues their remarkable chart dominance for a second consecutive week following their highly anticipated comeback. The group maintained the number one spot on three of Spotify's weekly global charts, including weekly top albums, weekly top songs, and weekly top artists, covering the week from March 27th through Thursday. Their latest album, Are Rang, and its lead track, Swim, have also topped YouTube's weekly charts, with the music video accumulating 83 million views globally. Additionally, the album has claimed the top position on Australia's ARIA Top 50 Albums chart for two consecutive weeks, solidifying BTS's continued global influence after their nearly four-year hiatus.
SPEAKER_02Stray Kids member Felix made headlines after sharing a selfie with Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman, Lee Jeong, on Instagram, creating buzz across social media. The photo, believed to have been taken at the state luncheon during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Korea, shows both figures in black suits with Felix adding a playful caption. The unusual pairing of a K-pop idol and a leading business figure quickly went viral, with fans creating puns combining Lee's name with Felix's Korean name, Lee Yongbok. Felix previously served as a model for Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge, making the connection between the two even more notable to fans.
SPEAKER_00K-pop stars and stray kids, Felix, joined forces for cultural diplomacy at a state luncheon commemorating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. The event, held at the Blue House's Yongbingwan State Guest House, brought together President Lee Jame Young, First Lady Kim Heikyung, French President Emmanuel Macron, and his wife Brigitte. Felix showcased his global communication skills by facilitating conversation between the two presidents, while actress Jun Ji Hyun also attended as an honorary ambassador. President Macron later shared selfies on his social media with Csai, Felix, Jun Jihyun, and other Korean celebrities, highlighting the warm atmosphere and the growing role of K-pop in international relations.
SPEAKER_02The Netflix series A Beauty and the Beast production team issued a public apology after facing backlash for blocking access to a popular cherry blossom viewing spot in Busan. The crew closed off approximately 20 meters of the Gageum Dong Deck Path, a famous cherry blossom destination, during peak viewing season on April 1st and 2nd. Citizens complained on social media that production equipment and vehicles occupied the narrow pathway, and some nighttime Jingwan lighting was turned off, making it difficult for visitors to enjoy the blossoms.
SPEAKER_00Girl group I've kicked off their second world tour, Show What I Am, with their Asia Leg starting today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Axiata Arena. The tour promises to showcase the group's enhanced musical capabilities and stage presence with more defined team colours compared to their first world tour, Show What I Have. Following their successful soul concerts last October and November at KSPO Dome, the group will bring a refreshed set list featuring tracks from their second full album, Revive Plus, including pre-release double title track Bang Bang and title track Black Hole. The tour will continue through Japan, Manila, Singapore, and Macau, with a notable performance at Kyotera Dome Osaka, marking their second Dome venue appearance after Tokyo Dome.
SPEAKER_02Our featured song today is X Room by XDynary Heroes, a pre-release track from their upcoming mini album Dead End. This vintage ballad beautifully captures the fading moments of a relationship with poignant lyrics and heartfelt melodies that showcase the band's songwriting depth. Here's a preview. Singer Gummy's agency, Amoeba Culture, issued an urgent warning about fake concert information circulating on Apple Music's platform. The agency clarified that concert dates listed on Apple Music for New York on April 10th, Brasilia on May 3rd, and New York City on May 15th are completely false and unrelated to the artist or company. Amoeba Culture emphasized that any performance schedules or ticket information not announced through official company channels or the artist's social media are fraudulent. The agency has requested Apple Music to remove the false information and is actively working to resolve the issue quickly while asking fans to verify all concert details through official sources only.
