SPEAKER_02Former VIX X member Ravi has broken his silence following his military discharge in December 2025, issuing a public apology for his involvement in a military service evasion scandal. The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kim Wan Shik, admitted to conspiring with a broker to fake epilepsy symptoms in an attempt to avoid military service, calling his actions cowardly and expressing deep shame. After receiving a one-year prison sentence with a two-year suspended sentence and 120 hours of community service, Ravi resumed his alternative service duties and completed them last December. In his statement, he acknowledged that he had made excuses based on personal circumstances when he should have been holding himself accountable, and he vowed to continuously learn and become a better person moving forward.
SPEAKER_00K-pop dominated the 2026 iHeart Radio Music Awards held in Los Angeles, with multiple Korean artists taking home major trophies. The virtual girl group Huntrix from Netflix's hit series K-pop Demon Hunters won Duo or Group of the Year, while their song, Golden, was named K-pop Song of the Year, and the show's soundtrack won Favorite Soundtrack. BTS member Jay Hope emerged as a double winner, earning awards for Favorite TikTok Dance with his solo single, Mona Lisa, and favorite K-pop collaboration for Sweet Dreams with Miguel. Blackpink's Rose also claimed two awards, winning Best Collaboration for A PT with Bruno Mars and being named K-pop artist of the year. SPEAKER_02Ayu is set to perform at Goyang Main Stadium in September, marking her first solo concert in approximately two years. The venue can accommodate around 43,000 fans, making it another milestone for the singer actress who has become the first female solo artist to fill all major stadiums in South Korea. Ayu previously hinted at the location by responding to a fan's guess about Goyang Stadium with a comment starting with the Korean word for correct. Before the concert, she'll return to television with the new NBC drama 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife, premiering in April.
SPEAKER_00Netflix series Bloodhounds is returning for a second season with upgraded action sequences and an expanded storyline. Stars Wu Doo Huan and Lee Sanggy reprise their roles as Gun Wu and Wu-Jin, who now face a global illegal boxing league after taking down Lone Sharks in the first season. The action director emphasized that Gun Wu's fighting style has evolved from straightforward power boxing to a more complete fighter with situational adaptability and technical skills, while Wu Jin maintains his signature speed and clever footwork. Zhu Hang Jee hoon joins the cast as the ruthless villain Baek Jung, described as a human weapon with complete mastery of boxing techniques, and the series promises diverse action settings, including boxing rings, warehouses, and parking lots when it premes globally on April 3rd.

SPEAKER_00Actors, Soji Sab, Be Duna, and Li Zu Young have lent their voices to support the film Heinz Voice, which documents the tragic 2024 Gaza Strip bombing. The movie, co-produced by global figures including Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, and director Alfonso Quarren, tells the true story of a six-year-old girl named Hind trapped in a bombed car and the Red Crescent Emergency Call Center's attempts to rescue her. So Jisop participated as a co-producer, while all three actors recorded narration for the Korean trailer to raise awareness about the film's message.
SPEAKER_02IT's member Hong Jung has been appointed as a global ambassador for World Vision's Global 6K for water campaign, continuing his philanthropic journey with the organization. The campaign symbolizes the approximately six-kilometer walk that children in water scarce regions must make daily to access clean water, and Hongjung will help spread awareness of this issue worldwide. He first connected with World Vision by participating in the 2024 virtual run and served as a model for last year's marathon event. Hong Jung expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to work hard to encourage more participation in the campaign. The appointment, which runs through February 2027, leverages Lee's international recognition and popularity to effectively communicate Busan's vision as a design hub. His duties will include participating in official events, poster photo shoots, promotional video campaigns, voice recording work, and short-form content creation. Lee expressed that it's meaningful to serve as the ambassador and promised to work hard to introduce the city's charm to more people. SPEAKER_02BTS has achieved another career milestone with their fifth full-length album, Ari Rang, which sold over 4.16 million copies in its first week according to HunterChart. The album surpassed their previous first week sales record, set by Map of the Soul 7, which moved 3.37 million copies and sold 3.98 million units on its first day alone. Ari Rang has topped Apple Music's album charts in 115 countries and regions, while the title track, Swim, maintained the number one position on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global Chart for six consecutive days. The album also dominated Japan's Oricon charts, becoming this year's best-selling release by a foreign artist and marking BTS's seventh number one album in the country, with the group releasing a remix album called Keep Swimming, featuring member-produced arrangements.
SPEAKER_00Korean author Han Kang has won the National Book Critics Circle Award for her novel We Do Not Put, translated into English by Lee Yuan and Paige Morris. The association president praised the work as a luminous portrait of post-Jeju massacre trauma, featuring dazzling melancholy, gloomy weather, and whispering sentences that linger like a powerful dream. This marks the second time a Korean author has received this prestigious honor, which is considered one of America's top three literary awards, alongside the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. Poet Kim Hai-soon also won in the poetry category for her collection Phantom Pain Wings, translated by Choi Don Mi, demonstrating the growing international recognition of Korean literature following Han's Nobel Prize win in 2024.
