SPEAKER_00We're your host bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
SPEAKER_02Today is March 20th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
SPEAKER_00Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_02BTS has officially returned with their fifth full-length album, A Re Rang, marking their first complete group release in nearly four years. The album dropped on March 20th at 1 p.m. Korean time, featuring the alternative pop title track Swim, which uses swimming as a metaphor for persevering through life's challenges. The group held a special comeback live broadcast on Weathers at 2 p.m., where members revealed they each lost 9 to 10 kilograms through intense preparation and workout routines. Member RM shared that the team extensively debated whether they could even use the title Ah Rai Rang, given its deep cultural significance as Korea's most iconic folk song, but ultimately decided it best represented their identity as seven Korean artists returning to their roots.
SPEAKER_00BTS and Netflix have joined forces to create what's being called the biggest live event in K-pop history. With the group's comeback concert taking place at Guanghuamun Plaza in Seoul on March 21st at 8 p.m. The massive production spans from Guanghuamun to City Hall Plaza, utilizing 9.5 kilometers of power cables, 23 cameras, and 124 monitors to capture every angle. Netflix Vice President Brandon Rigg announced this will be the streaming platform's largest live project of the year, broadcasting simultaneously to 190 countries worldwide. The production team emphasized their commitment to respecting Guanghuamun's historical significance while creating an unprecedented fusion of BTS's narrative with Korea's cultural heritage, with total producer Garrett English describing the scale as beyond imagination.
SPEAKER_02In unfortunate news just two days before the comeback, BTS member RM sustained an ankle injury during rehearsals on March 19th, diagnosed with navicular sprain, partial ligament tear, and talus contusion. Medical staff recommended a leg cast and at least two weeks of minimal movement, but RM insisted on participating in the comeback stage despite the injury. Big Hit Music confirmed that RM will perform with limited choreography to prevent further damage, focusing on vocals and stage presence rather than full dance routines. During a live broadcast, RM apologized to fans, saying he practiced so intensely that the injury occurred, but promised to deliver his best through singing and atmosphere while recovering in time for the full concert tour.
SPEAKER_00The swim music video showcases Hollywood actress Lily Reinhardt in a cinematic narrative filmed against the vast ocean backdrop of Lisbon, Portugal. The video depicts a woman struggling through difficult times aboard a massive ship, with BTS members appearing as supportive guides who steer the vessel, raise anchors, and watch over her journey. Directed by renowned filmmaker Tanu Muino, the production utilized actual large-scale ships and elaborate sets to create movie-like visuals, though the members revealed that not a single day of shooting had good weather. The challenging rain conditions unexpectedly enhanced the final product, with wet scenes adding emotional depth to the performance that explores themes of breaking free from constraints and embracing new journeys.
SPEAKER_02Here's a preview.
SPEAKER_00BitEC's comeback is generating massive economic impact, with Bloomberg estimating the sole concert alone will produce$177 million in potential revenue from tourism, aviation, accommodation, dining, and merchandise sales. IBK Investment Securities projects, the group's comeback, will contribute$2.9 trillion in total sales, with the 82-show World Tour across 34 cities expected to generate over$800 million. Hotel prices near Guanghuamen have surged dramatically, with five-star properties selling out immediately and rates jumping 50% above normal, prompting government authorities to inspect 83 accommodation businesses and charge 18 with price gouging. The BTS the City Are Rang Sol Festival has transformed the entire city into a celebration zone, with media facades at Sung Yemun Gate and En Seul Tower, water shows at Bampo Bridge, and drone displays at Tuxion Han River Park running through April 19th.
SPEAKER_02International fans have flooded Seoul for the BTS Comeback, with hotels.com reporting a 155% surge in travel searches to Seoul within 48 hours of the tour announcement in January. At the Love Song Lounge in Yahoo, fans from around the world gathered to participate in interactive installations, including the Love Song Connect, where they wrote their favorite BTS songs on fabric strips, forming a giant A Re Rang logo. Greta, an Italian fan, credited BTS's Japanese single Your Eyes Tell with saving her life during the pandemic, while Bulgarian fan Maria described the comeback as the biggest ever, with a mature concept the group has never explored before. The Riverside venue features the Ahre Rang Playground, with bicycles and seesaws that virtually control BTS songs, a message post box displaying real-time fan messages, and a love song live stage hosting 15 indie artists performing through the weekend.
SPEAKER_00Actor Lee Jiangwu issued a public apology on March 20th regarding unpaid supplier debts at his restaurant a Hosiocchon taking responsibility for management failures despite claiming he paid all amounts to the intermediary company. The controversy erupted when news sources reported that meat supplier A had not received approximately 40 million one in payments for eight months, though Lee's side initially countered by showing transfer records to the middleman company, Mujin. Li explained that the former Hosyokchon representative, a 20-year friend who also served as Mujin's auditor, failed to pass payments to the supplier, a situation Lee claims he only discovered through the media reports. He acknowledged his moral responsibility for not directly verifying the entire transaction structure and promised to treat the amount as a loan to Mujin on the condition they immediately reimburse supplier A, while also pledging to establish independent verification systems rather than relying solely on personal trust in business operations.
SPEAKER_02ESPAS Winter has donated 200 million one to support children in conflict zones and patients facing financial hardship, splitting the contribution between UNICEF Korea and Samsung Soul Hospital. The 100 million one donation to UNICEF will support physical and psychological treatment, nutrition, and health care for children affected by conflicts and disasters in crisis regions, with Winter joining the high-level donor group UNICEF Honors Club. Her additional 100 million, one to Samsung Sol Hospital's Patient Happiness Fund, will help economically disadvantaged patients reduce their treatment cost burden and focus on recovery and rehabilitation. Winter expressed her desire to give back the love received from fans to the world, hoping all children can attend school and enjoy normal lives regardless of circumstances, while wishing patients struggling financially can regain healthy daily routines.
SPEAKER_00Actress Go Yun Young donated 50 million one to firefighter family hopesharing on March 20th to support active duty firefighters with equipment and PTSD prevention programs. The donation was inspired by her experience filming the NBC show Manito Club, where she completed a secret mission to set up a cafeteria for firefighters and witnessed their working conditions firsthand. Her agency stated that after visiting the fire station and observing the demanding environment and workflow, Go recognized the need for support and felt gratitude for the firefighters' sense of responsibility. The actress is currently preparing for her next project, the JTBC Saturday Sunday drama. Everyone is fighting their own worthlessness, written by Park Hei Young and directed by Cha Young-hoon, where she'll play film producer Byeun Oona when the series premieres April 18th at 10.40 pm.
