SPEAKER_01Let's dive right in.
SPEAKER_00Girl Group Eyelid member Wanhee showcased her impressive vocal prowess during the group's first solo concert at Ticket Link Live Arena in Seoul. Known among fans as Master Singer Jeannie, Wanhee delivered a stunning three-tier high note during the performance of Almond Chocolate that left the audience in awe. After the performance, she shared that watching fans' encouraging expressions and focused attention motivated her to sing even harder. Eilet's debut solo tour Press Start marks a significant milestone as they transition from a digitally strong group to a live performance powerhouse with genuine ticket selling power.
SPEAKER_01Eilet's track Jellius has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, becoming the group's seventh song to achieve this milestone. The dance pop track, featured on their third mini-album, Bomb, cleverly compares mixed emotions about an uncertain crush to Tangled Jelly, with the title playing on the words Jealous and Jelly. The group's total streaming count across all releases on Spotify now exceeds 2.5 billion plays. Their debut song Magnetic reached 700 million streams in just one year and seven months, setting the fastest record for any K-pop group debut track.
SPEAKER_00Japanese artist Iwata Takanori brought his Space Cowboy Asia Tour to Seoul's Yonsei University Grand Auditorium, delivering an emotionally charged performance for Korean fans. The singer expressed his love for the audience in Korean, creating heartfelt moments throughout the show. His pink-themed stage design and passionate delivery demonstrated his commitment to connecting with fans across Asia. The Soul Stop represents an important milestone in his expanding international presence beyond Japan.
SPEAKER_01The concert concept centers around a gaming theme, with members transitioning from a virtual world into reality to connect with fans through stage progression that mimics unlocking game levels. The set list showcases the group's growth story, featuring their biggest hits alongside special performances exclusive to this tour. After selling out all shows during the first day of pre-sales, the tour will visit seven cities across 14 performances, including stops in Aichi, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hyogo, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
SPEAKER_00World's first sign language idol group, Big Ocean, delivered a powerful performance of one man army on NBC's show music call, featuring approximately 20 dancers in a massive sign language tuting showcase. The performance filled the stage with grandeur while conveying deep messages through precise hand movements that went beyond simple choreography. Their third mini-album, The Greatest Battle, documents their fierce struggles against prejudice since debut, with the title track drawing inspiration from Admiral Yi Sun-sen's legendary battle of Mayonggyang. The group will embark on a United States tour next month, visiting nine major cities including Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Raleigh.
SPEAKER_0117 member Hoshi is releasing a romantic love song titled Agijagi today at 6 p.m., recorded before his military enlistment. The minimalist beat and delicate melody capture the heart-fluttering emotions of lovers falling for each other through subtle exchanges. The title Agijagi refers to sweet terms of endearment like baby and honey, with Hoshi participating in both writing and composing to embed a promise that even if their schedules briefly misalign, they should cherish the present moment together. This marks another gift to fans following his September enlistment, when he released the solo track, Take a Shot, on his induction day.
SPEAKER_00Day 6 member Wampil revealed the tracklist for his first mini album, Unpiltered, returning to solo activities after nearly four years. The album contains seven tracks, including title song Love Ward, with Wampil participating in writing and composing all songs to showcase his evolved capabilities as a singer-songwriter. The album title reflects his intention to present his unfiltered inner world and personal narrative through music, with support from composers Hong Ji Sung, Li Wu Min, and Park Wu Sang.
SPEAKER_01Achieving a triple crown even after official promotions ended, this marks their ninth music show trophy for the second album cycle. Demonstrating sustained popularity beyond active promotional periods, the members expressed gratitude for the continued support and promised to prepare diligently for their upcoming fan concert. The powerful EDM track conveys Ives' signature confident message about forging their own path without being swayed by others' opinions, and it became the first song released this year to achieve a perfect all-kill on domestic music charts.
SPEAKER_00Alpha Drive 1 successfully completed their fan showcase in Kanagawa, Japan, drawing approximately 1,000 fans despite not having officially debuted in the country yet. The group performed powerful stages featuring pre-release track Formula, title song Freak Alarm, and B-side Cinnamon Shake, with the venue filled with enthusiastic cheers throughout. Members actively communicated with fans through Japanese comments and eye contact while engaging in talk segments and game corners. Major Japanese media outlets, including Oricon News and Fuji TV, spotlighted the event, with Oricon reporting that Alpha Drive 1 appeared at their first official Japanese alt event amid tremendous fan excitement.
SPEAKER_01Actor Yu Yun Siok's new drama. Sheen and Associates law firm premiered to strong ratings, capturing first place in its time slot with a nationwide average of 6.3%. The SBS Friday-Saturday drama also dominated the 20-49 age demographic with 2% viewership, signalling a successful launch. The first episode depicted possessed lawyer Xin Yi Rang defending the family of a ghost who died from medical malpractice, culminating in a comedic scene where an angry ghost possesses him during trial, causing him to charge at opposing counsel Han Nahyon before tripping and regaining consciousness. The episode ended with Sheen's humorous outcry that he really hates being a ghost-seeing lawyer, building anticipation for whether he'll secure his first courtroom victory.
SPEAKER_00The film The King and the Man has surpassed 12 million admissions as of March 11th, far exceeding initial expectations in a challenging theatrical market. Producer Lim Unjung of OndaWorks revealed that the project began seven years ago with screenwriter Huang Sunggu facing multiple rejections before she left her previous company in 2023 to independently develop the script. She was drawn to the story's focus on common people rather than palace politics, seeing it as a fresh approach to historical drama that could expand the genre's limited target audience. The film's success has revitalized both the theater industry and local economies, with Yongwol County experiencing a seven-fold increase in tourism, while the production team plans to rework the controversial Tiger CGI effects in response to audience feedback. Until then, stay tuned to All Things Korean Entertainment, and we'll catch you tomorrow.
